I was debating wether or not i should post this as it works most of the time, but not always. Before attempting this, you should save your level. I will not be held responsible for any lost work...
Now that that is out of the way....
Ive gotten a new way to open cutscene properties dialogue which has worked 23 out of the 25 times ive tried... So it greatly increases your odds...
Open RED and place a random event (delay will do) and go to its properties, change the type to "Cutscene". RED will most likley NOT crash unlike most other methods.
Just thought id share it, it has worked alot of times for me |

That's similar to the one where you change 'cutscene' to 'cutscene1' in the tables. Add the event then rename. Hadn't thought of doing it that way though, cheers for the info Goob |

Doesn't work for me.
But then I can normally open cutscene properties 90% of the time anyway. |

you didn't mention alot of things.. And only covered the absolute basics.. Well one thing is that you don't actually have to use path nodes.. you can just use cameras.
So there are other tricks to know.. One of the main issues with Multiplayer is that If player dies during cutscene.. RF Crashes.. You can take my word for that.
Opening the cutscene properties, can be a process which requires much patience.. but as long as you keep trying.. You will get it.
and Also I mentioned that It's not as likely to be able to open the cutscene properties.. If the map is too much.. So It doesn't hurt to setup your cutscene events before you continue to detail the level. |

My method has in the past aswell.. I didn't have to do any of that though.. After awhile I got lucky, and It never crashed.. This sort of thing is different from user to user I find.
Well If that's the case, GJ.. But It hasn't been proven to work for everybody else yet, So we'll just have to wait and see. |

Indeed, however I have just learned that RF and RED can crash without giving error message, which makes problem tracking even more harder of. But now I also want reports that is method I deviced successfu. (propably has been discovered before by someone but then forgotten again) |

If you have not disabled Windows Error Reporting, You will find that Windows displays the problem with your applications that crash. You click on the link on the error report that says "Click here for more details".
If you do not understand the error it gives you, then its pointless using this method. If you do, then thats great and might narrow down your error problems for you to fix alone. |

Yeah I know that but usually that report requires that you know assembly "coding" which mean you can pick information from that report.
I have created one method to get cutscenes to work and it can be accesses fromHere |
