Hello Red Faction Fans and players.
Today, I wish to announce the secret mod that me Spikey2005 and Goober have been working on for the past 2 weeks. It is due to completion soon and we will be getting it finished soon as possible.
This mod so far is looking Awsome and we are hoping that people of the Red Faction community will enjoy this mod. Me and Goober have been enjoying creating this mod so far and we are using alot of new features into getting this mod correct.
Let me just bring you up to scratch of what we are doing here.
Has anyone ever played Command & Conquer? If you have then thats great but the real question is, Have you ever played C&C Renegade?
Well if you havent then go do a google search for some images of the game.
If you have played Renegade, then by now, you have guessed it already.
We have been creating building models in RED out of solid brushes to achieve the unthinkable. Thats right... The buildings that make up your base CAN be destroyed!!!!
This mod will also have new weapon features in it as close to Renegade as we can get... Lets just say to spoil the suprise, we even added the Nuclear War Head missle .
There will be a few maps to this mod and also the ability to allow other Red Faction mappers to construct their own custom maps and use on the mod too.

Well Spikey spilled the beans on our secret project I see, well since you know about it now, I thought why keep you waiting? Ill show you some screenshots of the Nuke! 

The warhead being launched right next to the Obelisk.

The explosion, as it clears.
These pictures do not do justice to the real thing however, you will have to see it yourself.
Ill post some more teasers tomorrow, but right now im going to go code some more. |

C&C Renegade, is the only C&C game i own. I'm a FPS, TPS, TPF persion all the way. the only thing that bother me about C&C Renegade was that the building could not be completly destroyed. I'm glad some one has remidied this.
BTW how many maps are there. also will the obulisc be able to kill you? i'm sure no one know what i mean, and i'm not going to tell them eather |

We do not know how many maps there will be on this mod But we hope to make enough for the mod. Also, The obelisk is NOT automatic. Red Faction does not support any type of Multiplayer Bot turret to perform such a task Unfortunally.
Instead, you are required to climb the top of the Obelisk where the red cone is, and you can fire the "Obelisk Rail Gun" out of there to defend your base from GDI.
For the GDI base, the Advanced Gaurd Tower has been modified too so that the same can be done like the Obelisk but instead, you can see the people on the platform that goes around the Adv GT. Any Weapon can be fired from both structures but we recommend using the Obelisk Rail gun inside the Obelisk. You may use any weapon for the GT since the GT on Renegade fires Turrets and Rockets.
We are also planning on replacing the Glass house with a huge Cut Scene Tutorial on how to play the new game type "Command & Conquer" which will run you through the basics of destroying buildings and so on. This new feature is to help those who have not yet played C & C. We want people to know how to play before they commit them selfs to Multi Player with this mod.
It would be annoying to try and explain everything to someone asking questions on what to do through typing ...
You can tell anyone about this new exciting mod we will be releasing soon! The Secrets out and we kept it in the shadows long enough. I would say its about Half Way done.
Oh did I forget to mention, we want to have Solid Brushed vehicle movers on this?
Yes they be buggy as hell but we will design the movers with a one way system. They will not move unless a button is pressed. Simple Enough.
Simply putting this, the mover will move to its Destination. After a short delay, the mover will return back to its postion and ready for the next player to use. |

Goober has just got hold of 3D max so I think we might add a few new models into this mod. |

This just in
The concrete wall is now a clutter object, so it can be destroyed soley by firing on it, and not its master terminal. The wall no longer has a master terminal.
Currentally, i am modeling a clutter object used for the tiberium and im also working on a terminal model. Perhaps the vehicles and MABYE just MABYE the buildings will be destroyable clutter. |

Goober, it would be a great Achievement if you can make those buildings into Clutter Objects. I don't see how but it will be a great step to making things easier for us lol.
At the moment, we have made Saved groups of the buildings using RED editor. The buildings look awsome, they are quite big and hold a great massive deal to this mod.
CnC mod for Red Faction will hopefully be a great fun mod to play on. |

Like we say, "Soon". We do not have a release date yet. We will be keeping you all up to date as possible then give you a release date.
If you want, we could even provide you with a count down notice you see in game shops for a game to be released lol...

Oh don't worry FuryThor, There will be a Tutorial created to replace the Glass House Extra which will explain to everyone who downloads the mod what to do and how to do it.
I could give u a quick Explaination.
Basically, each building makes up your base. Inside each building is something called a "Master Terminal". This Terminal is the buildings health. If you continue to shoot at the Master Terimal and destroy it, you will destroy the usage of that building.
In RF, we have create an object that looks like the Master Terminal (MT for short). In the same way on Renegade, you destroy the MT to disable the building.
There is a big difference though. If you shoot the building on the out side, it will do NO damage what so ever. This makes it slightly difficult to destroy the other teams base.
I recon this game type and mod would be suited for big amount of players like 32 hosted server with the mod. Its going to be great! just hang in there, me and goober are working hard to get this perfect for you guys. |

Loved Renegade, was a good game 
Peaked at 65th in the world rankings in the weeks after it was launched... you could barely get me out of the game 
I might actually have to find my RF CD's for this... |

Yep! the Construction yard will be in this mod as the main Building. The way we have thought this out is when you destroy the construction yards Master Terminal, It will trigger a mover on the whole building to move under the level. Once the Con Yard moves to the bottom, that teams flag with YOUR base under it will be revealed to win the game. In order to win the game properly, is to cap this flag and the games over! |
