[url=www.autodesk.com]3Ds Max[/url] - For modeling and boneing. You will have trouble finding an appropriate version though, only versions 4.2 - 5.0 work with the Red Faction plugins. Don't know of any free sound progs that let you truly edit the sound wave though. The Gimp for creating/editing textures if you don't want to pay for photoshop/psp. Its almost as good IMHO, especially with all the add-ins you can get for it! RF Weapon Examples Personally I didn't find them too useful, but some people do.
