Yes ladies and gentlemen, Neo Faction is back once again, but this time, no CENSORED footin' around.

Currently, me and FuryThor have begun with the project and only rough concept sketches are being taken place.

We're workin on the solid blueprints of the mod, and this is what we got written down so far :
-It is going to be Multiplayer oriented.
-This modification is going to be a large one.
-There will be close to 32 new Weapon Models; some selected from past NF mod that are suitable.
-Many new vehicles, some new characters
-New sounds, new textures, new gameplay.
-New Maps
-Totally new feel.

Right now we are looking for:
-High talented graphic artist
-Dedicated Mapper
-Weapon modeller/skinner
-Vehicle model maker/skinner
-RF bone rigger and animator (Slitz is still not 100% great with it)

Right now i am the Head manager, so-to-speak.
i: Weapon model and get the fricken things in-game
Design graphics
Code weapons
Create effects.
FuryThor is the master coder . Refer to him for more details.
(Thanks to him for successfuly getting the know-how to add more weapons)

Very cool! I can't wait! But unfortunately, I have never played previous version(s) of NeoFaction, where can I get it? Then I can see the full effect of yall's mod when it is released!

Yes, in fact im trying to figure out the dual weapons capability, which would obviously be used as ALT fire.

ummm do you think you could find another way besides using alt fire. maby it's just me but i'v always felt that any game that uses alt fire for a second weapon was just cra p.

dual weapons can be littlebit complex to create as 3rd person model is just the gun, and I don't know if it possible to make character model to have primary and secondary weapon in hands, however atleast they can hold item and weapon, so why not 2 weapons ?

This is kind of issue that is solved only by testing
Anyway as slizerfest already mentioned I am master coder of NF5 mod, so I try to create new methods for RF

If you do the 3rd person character animations correctly, you could make it look like they are using 2 weapons. The secondary fire can have a seperate character animation I believe, like the secondary assault rifle (I *think* it has a seperate one anyway)

red frog mad two diffrent types of dual weapons. one client side mod called dual HMGs. and another proper mod using dual 12mm handguns, in that mod primary fire would fire your left hand. and secondary fire would fire youe right hand. how ever i would prwfer that primaery fire fires both hands. however if this can not be successguly fooled by unortadox RF table editing and animations. then i guess i ca live with useing two buttions to fire both guns.

One more thing. in the dual 12mm mod the secondary fire still would not work in multi player. not even after i tweaked it. stupid hard coded RF

You see, the easy part is to create 2 of the new weapons and make them fire at the same time. The problem is making 2 muzzle flashes/rocket fire.
Hopefully FuryThor can sort this out
I got the weapon know-how hes got the coder know-how.
Im sure we will figure something out on that line.

Meanwhile me and FuryThor have been working very hard at this mod, i currently have a second weapon in the works. (To perfection comes dedication)

Also, im working on a site for NF5.
More of that to come.

Isn't it very hard (impossible) to get like 32 different weapons in Multi? From what I have read on this site i always got the idea that adding more weapon slots to the standard ones is something impossible.

Alber Einstein said that "everything is relative" and I quess that it applies even here.

In my opinion, adding new weapons for player quite simple, but only if you know what you are doing. And that guide I made, it was just quickly together thrown piece of work.

Dual wield weapons, are a littlebit of problem, as howto get those show correctly in third person view ? only found by research. And then is there way to get pistols to shoot sequentially ?
Those things we can only speculate or start to research.

Again in this case having source code of Red Faction would answer this question without any gaps, as it has definitions for weapons etc.

Before getting source code, there is little else to do than trying to figure this out.

32 different weapons in multi is not in fact, impossible. All you need is to edit entried in pc_multi and fp_gun, not to forget weapons.tbl as your weapon references as well

With every character, has a different action for each gun in 3rd person. The problem is that original RF characters cant be edited to add actions simply because we dont have the max source files for these characters. The only way for 32 weapons to work in multi is to create totally new characters.
