Did you make sure that you removed the old driver before you installed the new one? You will run into problems if you install a ne video driver over the old one. Easy way to fix this is to boot up into safe mode if you can get that far and remove the old driver, restart and install the new driver. If you can get far enough to get to the windows boot menu with "F8" then use a boot floppy disk to bypass the hd.

It would help if you gave proper information in your profile about your pc...

1) Try resetting the BIOS.

....and look for an option that lets you set it back to factory defaults. Or, consult your motherboard manual and look for a jumper that will mechanically reset the BIOS. (I think its called the CMOS jumper)

Oh well i d/loaded the official driver from the SiS site and i can play games now but the startup problem is still there so i think resetting the BIOS like you guys said should solve all probs.

Oh, after resetting the BIOS, make sure that you change any settings back to what your hardware requires. (check out your motherboard manual for that too.)

LOL! Sorry, that's funny

Errr.... to me, not to you

Anyway, yes, try resetting your BIOS and see what happens. I prefer the use of jumpers myself, but meh.
