A friend of mine did that on his laptop.
First off, it eats resources like Censored. His 2.x GHz P4 with several gig of RAM ran pretty well with it, but unless you have something comparable to that, I'd recommend against it. Also, I doubt your machine was a 64-bit system like his too (custom-built and everything. Such an awesome system :'() with the massive pipelines that that provides.
Anyway, it looks sweet, and whenever I upgrade to an actual GB of RAM (yep, I'm a n00b, only 512 MB on this setup), and get a better graphics card (64 MB is dead, especially when a 256 MB can be found at Circuit City for a little over 100 usd); I'll probably get that theme too.
Also, as it is just a theme, all you'd have to do is change back to another theme (save your current one before installing the Vista theme) and the negative effects of the theme will disappear (save for the hard drive space it would take up). |
