I was curious whether its possible to host a dedicated RF server on linux?
I am in contact with a few australian service providers who said they would gladfully host a server, but they only run linux and find windows too much of a security risk.
I also dont think they are willing to run an emulator (have to ask).
But If anyone has any ideas or knows someone who has successfully done it.
Plz reply or add me on msn and tell me

I'm pretty sure it's possible. I have seen servers run by people whom I know have Linux systems, whether they were using Linux while running the servers is another story though.

Yeah and I hope that such information is put to public since I would be very interested to run Linux based RF servers since working linux need a heck lot less resources than windows systems (and xp is only good to use)

I know for a fact RHF<---L4Y user, wrote an A-Z tutorial on how to set up a RF server on linux, very in depth, every step included.
Only problem, it was on the old L4Y. (News Article probably deleted in the switch)
But!, I'll bet if you PM him, he'd send you the tutorial. Just a thought

"Thank you for contacting THQ Support.
We did not test this game on Linux therefore we cannot offer any support for this game on Linux. Please refer to the retail box for this games Windows system requirements.

I am in Dinner Server from approximately 10pm to 4am central US time, which would be GMT+6? I think?
The Linux master jumps in from time to time - next time I see him we shall see what can be done for you Lord S.
