Quoting REDFROG
oh I didn't read

moved all maps from my multi and single folder,"

Rename multi and single to multi2 and single2.
Create 2 new folders and give them the names multi and single..so you have 2 empty folders for RF. Try it now.

Have you patched the game?
Any changes made on RF.exe, ui.vpp?
(a device may be a harddrive or not? )
Do you have 2 harddrives and installed Red Faction on another driver before? (perhaps the game is searching files on D: but cant find because its all on C: now I dunno if that can happen though..)

delete the player.cfg files from the root folder.

That never worked. I have one hard drive, i've also patched the game. Deleted the file and it still buggers up. I dont wanna touch registry, and i *think* it only does it for RED.

Wakey is a type of person who doesn't have confidence to be able to proceed with these help tips. Ive learnt that because he wasnt sure to do Remote Assistances with me, to solve this issue, incase I went to touch his personal folders. When we agree'd to do remote assistances, I was threatened not to touch them otherwise he presses the ESC key, which in any case, that is fair enough. Even though, I wouldn't want to view his personal details anyways.
Remote Assistances failed to connect because we both connect to a Local Area Network, causing NAT issues.

He is very protective with his computer and with the amount of crap going on over the internet, I don't blame him, And I don't think he wants to mess with things that COULD cause problems to his computer, like Registry keys.

To think with his mind, he is probley saying to him self, "What if I delete the wrong Registry key?" lol.

If this is any help to anyone, I use to get this error a few times my self. I use to click OK, click the icon again and it would work.

im 60% certain that it could be a currpted rfl map file... try and remember the last map you had loaded into RED and delete it.

Its a b**** i know but its the only way I could think of... Don't delete all your maps, that be a waste of hard work!

Here is a pic of his Error

****************EDIT******************
After doing another talk with Wakey, We have managed to solve the issue.

This is very simple and easy to do.

1) Download your latests Graphics card drivers and save them to a easy location from www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com.
2) After download is finished, Un-install your currently graphics drivers installed on your computer using "Add/Remove programs" in the control Panel. Reboot your computer after this is completed.
3) After computer has rebooted, locate the drivers you downloaded and saved, Install these new drivers and go through the Setup Wizard.
4) Reboot your computer once again for the drivers to update with Windows.
5) Finally, load either RED or Red Faction and the error will no longer appear any more.

Hope this helps anyone in the future .

Many thanks to those who have tried to be a great support and offered their knoldges of this fatel issue.
