In our user profiles, we have ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, and MSN chat user name spaces.
Is there posability of having an Xfire one? I've stopped using the other ones because I like how you can tell what your friends are playing in XFire. That, and AOL just pisses me off now.
Is it shear popularity that determines what is in the profile, or is it a 'more deeply rooted into the site and can't be changed' kind of thing?
~ Just curious, who else uses xfire? |

Those were the core 4 messengers when the site was developed.
XFire could be added relatively easily. |

What... so you can see when your friend is in a game and send him a message to annoy him?
Personally I see no benefit to XFire over any other IM... I had an account once apon a time... long abandoned and the client uninstalled. I'll stick with Trillian and ICQ/MSN ta very much. |

Not to bug them, you can see what they are playing, what server they are in, and who they are playing with. You can even just click a button to join the exact game and server that they are playing in.
It completely eliminates the need to have to ask them "What game are you playing? Is there room? Whats server ip?" etc...
Very handy, it even supports a ton of games that run on Steam. |

A few years ago that would have been ideal... but now I just yell 'whats everyone up to?' into my Ventrilo server (I run one for my uni friends - we're all permanently connected to it) and I get a human response from them all.
I've yet to see XFire state 'Watching Pr0n' |

Actually, I like XFire, but I prefer the "classic" version, before they bulked it with extra crap. All I want, is to see others online, see what server/game they are in, and IM them ingame, etc. I don't need to see every person in the server they are in, what they all ping, etc.
I wish they offered a classic version <_< |

it stands on the screen about half a second.
You need to use a particular shortcut if you want it to be displayed longer. |
