Exactally what i said, 3ds max is used in development of major games and full lenght movies, you cant honestally expect them to give it away for less than its price of around $6000
Plus, you cant buy V4.2 anymore i dont think..

You can save your work to CD and reformat your comp that would be the only legal way to keep using it.

Another way would be to delete the registry keys that involve 3ds max and just re-install the trial program again.
Although only do this if you have experience with regedit, you can possibly screw your computer over if you remove/edit the wrong thing.
[edit]Hmmmm, this is borderline ... while it is completely legal to edit your registry, you would be doing it to use a trial program for longer then the allocated time. [/edit]

it beats reformatting every 15 days ...
when i worked with AutoCAD 2006(a program that makes 3d models of machinery and the blueprints to make them) it had a trial version of 30 days, so every 30 days i reinstalled ... the program costs around $500 bucks for the light version (which doesn't plug into Computer controlled machining tools, i think) the full version is around $2,000
BTW, AutoCAD 2006(which is the industry standard) SUCKS!!!! ... Its incredibly bad compared to a level editor ...
