Thats a load of BullDoo!
Sony managed to bring out the best gaming consoles there are, PSX, PS2 and the PSP. I think the PS3 is going to be a Great machine, and again will make Sony marketleader.
back on topic:
I think the RF3 story is also a big load of BullDoo, just read what D2k posted/quoted.
would be nice to see a RF3 but I just think it ain't gonna happen.  |
XBOX360 has a good first start into the new consoles , the playstion 3 is going to be slower then it allready was , thats what sony had confirmed...the speed of the ps3 was to fast for their video or something i think ps3 is dead allrealy but u know me i will buy it only for the new grand turismo lol CANT WAIT FOR IT !!!! |

just to start i live in australia...
OK i'm a Playstation guy as soon as I got a PS1 for my 10th b'day. Now I'm 15.5 and I have a PS2. Although the XBox 360 was released before the PS3 I think they should have taken some things into consideration. I player an in-store demo of the XBox 360 and hated it. The graphics were CENSORED mainly because it was in a CENSORED TV that, although new, displayed
the game like crap.
Mabye there was a few unrelated factors in the CENSORED looking graphics that day. BTW I was playing Project Gotham...something. The game itself was sh it house - worse than GT4. and to me thats saying something. message to the people who made GT4 and project gotham: people want cars that go fast, smash and break, not to mention how stupid you must have been to release gt4 concept!
Another thing: the ps3 is way over priced. sony would still make a killing if they sold them each for $50! mainly because more peeps would buy them! same thing with games - they suck mainly kids who still rely on their parents to buy everthing for them and the make a ton of money usually not even worth the game let alone the CD they're on!
I'll probably end up getting a ps3 but not when it gets released.
Now my time to CENSORED about the xbos 360 has come... The controllers. I don't know about you but play games daily and for ages at a stretch. with the 360's controllers they're betteries only last 2hrs and you then have to charge them for 5!
they also cost a ton and are not worth the materials they're made from.
ps2 controllers today are still sold for $50 AUD! new release games get up to $150 AUD
unlike the ps3 the 360 isn't backwards compatible with all the xbox games. its only compatible with the top 50 or so. you're basically screwed if you were hoping to play your xbox games on the 360 and found that they didn't work after you sold you're xbox to help pay for the 360...{takes breath}...
Another thing is the hype. companies almost con you into buying these consoles and games for heaps of money that most people can't really afford. it frankly pisses me off. but again people really should be smart enough to realise this.
a guy i know who is a bit older than me bought a 360 the day is came out. what a fool. you know why.
the ps3's controllers look absolutely stupid. for god sake have a look at franksteins monster the ps3! its oval shaped and looks weak. the ps2 controllers are about as good as it going to get in the range of hand-controllers.
PC is a much more flexible rescourse and you can customise it to your personal needs and upgrade it as new hardware and software comes and goes. with consoles, although suppling better and faster gameplay they aren't as versatile as pc's.
I won't even start on macs - you won't hear the end of it.

the fact that RF3 is supposedly coming fills me with memories of movie
trilogies such as star wasr and the lord of the rings
lord of the rings: the 1st one was an instant classic, supurb in every way, the 2nd was a loser, a shamefulway to continue the series BUT: the third was fantastic and i hope the outcome will be similar to this: Good - Crap - GREAT.
Similar to the Metal Gear Solid series: Fantastic story, cutscenes, characters, etc - Absolute mistake, POS, stupid, etc, - Great gameplay, physics, graphics, story, vast landscapes and what a girl...
Although i'm looking forward to rf3 i still have my reservations about it and agree it shoud be exclusive to PC but don't agree with goober that the ps3 will be the death of sony.

In 1889, Fusajiro Yamauchi founded Nintendo Koppai, a Japanese Kyoto-based card manufacturer. The cards in question were hanafuda playing cards, each one hand crafted and painted. The hanafuda game consists of 48 cards in 12 suits, and display natural symbols that are used to determine the value of the hand. The cards were sold in Kyoto and Osaka in Yamauchi's own Nintendo stores. After some success in the industry, special edition cards were created with different symboles, making the cards sought-after collectables. When the Yakuza (the Japanese equivalent of the Mafia) surfaced, they began using Nintendo Koppai's hanafuda playing cards in their high-stake gambling games, and Yamauchi fell under pressure to mass-produce the cards. He taught apprentices to help him make them, and Nintendo expanded to accommodate the growing demand.
By the mid 1970s Nintendo moved into vide games.
Their first product was the Color TV Game 6 which was followed up by a number of other TV systems. Nintendo also developed their own arcade games alongside the Color TV series, but their early attempts were only a moderate success, and nothing compared to Taito's Space Invaders or Namco's Pac-Man and Galaga.
By 1980 Gunpei Yokoi was ready to unveil a brand new handheld game that could fit in your pocket, and the very first series of Game & Watch games arrived. They were compact and revolutionary - an arcade game in your pocket. The Game & Watch games sold in massive numbers around the globe.
In 1981 Nintendo released the first arcade game designed by a young employee called Shigeru Miyamoto. It wasn't expected to do particularly well thanks to its cartoony characters and lack of shooting, but Donkey Kong was the company's first massive success story, and introduced everyone to Nintendo's mascot, Mario.
In a peculiar twist of fate, it was Nintendo that was partly responsible for bringing Sony into the the world of video games. From 1988 onwards, Nintendo courted the skills of Sony regarding a disc-based add-on for the SNES. Over the years Nintendo flitted fron Sony to Philips and back again until deciding to dispense with the idea altogether. Thanks to this dalliance, Sony clearly not wishing to waste time and resources spent developing the add-on went on to develop something called the PlayStation. |

the history of gaming consoles. now that is some serous off topic descusion  ..... buy the way, to whoever it was that ask. it was posted in this mounth's issue of electronic gamming mounthly. i beleave the front cover has a pic of the new brother in arms, or army related game on it.
now i would love to read more about the history of gaming consoles. and please include the mac this time, along with all computer operating systems such as windows, linux, mac ect... |

if my memery serves it was the august issue (rember that magazines are posted one mounth in advance) and i typed all i could rember in my first post
"on page 42 there was aposting about fact from rumers. FACT ( Long paragraph short ) Red Faction 3 will be blowing the bloted lead off the ps3 some time with-in the next year."
i too found that web site but eather i am compleatly stupic (wich i my be ) or they do not let you see every page that was printed in the mag I.E. only the cover story is viewable.
