Does anyone know about this? I only found this last week (maybe I have been living under a rock)
Texturing mode:
Ctrl + S = Select ALL faces on brush
Ctrl + D = Select same texture on brush
This is so helpful, especially when you have textured a large complicated brush with plenty of faces, you can just use Ctrl + D to select the untextured faces, or to alter only a certain texture. |
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

BTW, just thought I would clarify, you NEED to select 1 face with the texture you want to select, THEN press Ctrl + D. |

I just use the select all faces button in texture mode.
That way it selects all faces on every brush in a level with the same texture.
However it doesn't select the faces of brushes that are locked ( push Q, unlock with shift+Q)
ow and,.. no beatonator I didn't knew about that |

I use them, its merely advantagious to use the one i posted with large complicated brushes with different textures and faces.
Oh, and its Shift not CTRL. I mixed them up
An example of when this would be handy is, you make a large terrain brush, it has several faces making a path, you select the faces and texture them with the pathing texture. then you select a default face (the one next to the path) use the hotkey and you have everything selected on that brush except the path. handy if you have the same texture ELSEWHERE on the map and dont want to change it.
I do use the select all, but sometimes it selects things i dont wanna select. |

Thats why I said you could lock the things you don't want to be selected with Q in brush mode, and unlock with shift+Q |

Just discovered a new one...
If you press B while in Brush Mode the "cookie cutter" jumps to the 3D view position. Don't know how handy this is, as I have only just started using it.
Sorry if people already knew about this one. |

1. press c when your moving around the free look and all the other viewports will center to the current location of the freelook camera.
2. hold shift when moving a viewport to make it move faster.
3. press shift + O, B, F, V, T or G to jump to the different modes of RED.
4. press crtl+g to grid snap any paticular object. so moving an object with the mouse is fine (even brushes) then when you got the brush in or near the area you like just grid snap it and move it via side viewports with m + arrows.
5. i tend to copy and paste objects and entities and then morph them into what i want them to be. Crtl+m
I use these alot, im a shortcut guy. |
