Well, it is a long story. In fact it is a story full of drama, suspense, spills, chills and thrills! 
V-Becker is a MAC using computer user, we used to have some degree of correspondence. However, it has been almost half a year since I have heard from him and his activity in various internet forums has also evaporated.
I don't know what happened to him... maybe he is on tour playing the bass in some rock band? maybe the Volition crew is supposed to maintain a professional and distant relationship to their biggest fans? maybe he hates my gutz? I hope Allender doesn't hate my gutz too?!
Allender put together Summoner which started my Volition addiction! 
So the demo multiplayer doesn't work? I thought the demo games went thru the RFGT too?
The full version is the way to go tho.  |

 ah hey again well its more than just the game the demo is a awefully well controlled area theres usually someone always with rcon and we patch the rockets and its just run perfectly the way we like it mod servers the lot {by lot i dont mean many servers i just mean to our full expectations of a good time and its just cool to know everybody and its sort of a legacy i guess like ..we all mastered the canyon and we dont have those whacky weapons like gas canisters i have full and pretty much everyone of my mates on the demo do too but we honestly prefer the demo..its just become our nature i guesss i enjoy full a good bit now after playing it but i do miss the demo still lol  and seeing that the demo tracker is still down i dont think it might come back up  maybe this chapter of the red factions has died....=*( |

Well, before we throw dirt over the grave of the demo RF - I still want to know - does the demo version use the RFGT we use or is it truly a separate device? |

The demo has always used a separate tracker.
I just started it. Honestly, I don't know if it's working righ tor not. This is old technology and there isn't much in the way of good documentation.
And as for spamming me, I have no problem if people contact me. The only things to realize are:
1) We can't always get the tracker restarted quickly. There are lots of things that happen here and it's not always the highest priority. but I will certaily try to get to outages as quickly as possible.
2) As said before, nasty email to me or THQ isn't going to help the situation. Quite frankly, whomever reads your email at THQ probably isn't going to know what you are talking about. The have 100's of SKU, kids titles, marketing people, sales people, etc. RF is an old title -- not on the top of their list to deal with.
3) be patient. Despite what some people think, no one here wants to screw you guys over :-)
Anyway, glad it's all working out again. someone should let me know if the demo tracker is actually working or not. |

Its so nice to see people taking time out to help. On behalf of everyone here thankyou again V-Allender.
Let us know when you guys fancy another whooping at RF, maybe this time it wont be such a long mess to Organise it, and there will be more fragging |

ah yea thx alot V-allender the tracker is back upa nd working well i totally understand the delays and anything else..to begin with it is a demo ..i.e. free service and no one is gaining any real profit from it but thx for the consideration and thx for putting it back up if it took a month or more we would still be much grateful ..the game is what now ...6 years old? im not sure the demo is older i think with the addition of the test demo which indeed is dead  but christ its amazing that people like allender are helping out and not just bailing out on us demo W**res {pardon the language but that is what we are lol}
but the demo does help alot of new players get introduced to the game theres always a new face on the demo and usually they migrate to full its a process lol about..6 months on demo they learn a few good tricks then migrate to full no worries but thx again the lot of you espececially Mr.allender..dude watch the movie grandas boy great gamer movie lol...i wish i worked in video games >.< |

I agree that it is really cool of you to run a game tracker for a demo of an old title title after all of this time. AND even better that the full game tracker is up and running as well!

I sent Allender a email about this so it shouldn't take long untill the Tracker is up again
we don't really know what have happened to the server that the Tracker is on so of course it can take a little longer if it's broken
EDIT: Omg Allender is not there until the 31st i just got a auto email from him about that  i guess hes on vacation or something.
EDIT2: Looks like there is a serious problem over at volition, the site is down to might be something whit the power or something :S |

For the interim, visit www.panjaland.com they have lotz of IPs and a downloadable favlist. When the panjaland favlist is installed; hit the LAN Only button twice to bring up the favourites.
Even if Allender is on vacation, I am sure there is someone who will be attempting to get their Data Center back on track.
