Is it possible to make a brush (solid cylinder that lets you walk trough it in my case) have it's own gravity inside it? For example, I want to put respawn points inside that cylinder, so the player gently floats to the ground, and as soon as he goes out he will get normal gravity.

As far as i know, you can't. The gravity event applies to the whole map.

Well you can do such an effect with a push zone with a weak force upward.

Ok, this may seem far fetched, but I recall Kiliad doing some interesting things with gravity.

He made a map in which gravity would increase/decrease on a timer. It seems reasonable to think that you could use the same idea. The only difference being that instead of a timer to control the gravity, you could use a trigger, whenever that trigger is tripped, the gravity would respond accordingly, just a thought.

P.S. You might wanna PM Kiliad, he'll get ya going in the right direction.

that would only work for SP though... so beware if your using the triggered gravity for MP, it would be cool for someone to press a switch, and when everybody else jumped, they wouldnt come back down

I think there is a way ... i swore i played a map that would beam you to an empty part of space where you were doomed to drift for all eternity ... or was that UT2004 .

i dunno ... but i have made some interesting things work for RF recently

i filled a room with lava and made a door that came out about 30 m above the lava level ... then i littered the place with triggers so that when you would jump out into the lava a pillar (about 2 by 2)would shoot up out of the lava to catch you no matter which way you went ... feels and looks kinda cool.

Quoting E_Darkness
Well you can do such an effect with a push zone with a weak force upward.

I tried, but it doesn't work. If it's a jump pad push region, it will hold me at the top no matter what strength I ad. If it isn't a jump pad then it will let me fall trough and at high strengths it will keep me floating above for some time, after which it stops working.
I think I'll try using gravity.

I gave push field another try and success . Paradoxically I oriented the field towards the ground, gave it strength 100.00, turned it in to a jump pad. It was a bit slow but it worked.

Thank you all for your help.
