i was wondering if there had ever been a texture pack released for
MaxED2 or at least a compilation of textures available.

if not, does anyone have the capability of quickly throwing one together...?
i dont want anybody to bust their head trying to make one or anything, i was just wondering if there were any already in existence.

So far i've just been using the original game textures and a few photos that i've edited into a texture-friendly format, or just going onto "wallpaper" sites and taking their generic pictures intended for "tile" backgrounds. (like different kinds of woodgrain, or plants, or rockface, etc.)
i was just wondering if there was a better source.

yeah i got that one...good stuff...

what i was looking for more specifically were textures for use in
a Mortal Kombat themed level i was trying to throw together last night in a fit of inspiration... *aka, the StreetFighter mod trailer*

it's loosely based on the Pit levels...
and since i dont have a pit of death around my dorm, i couldn't really get any photos for textures.

i was gonna try to take some screens from the actual MK games in order to throw together a rudimentary skybox type deal...

but i realized i didn't know how to create my own skybox...



any ideas?
(i've got the latest version of Milkshape, and my 3dsMax isn't working anymore...that could be a problem i'm guessing... )

one more thing...how do you use "dangers" in MaxEd2? say for instance, if you wanted to make a pit of bloody spikes or something...

What exactly do you mean? Making the spikes or something else?

models and animations would be sweet...but i don't think i'm gonna have the time...
College is kinda filling up my free time lately and i was just hoping to get a level done...so i started this one.

and yeah, i want this level to be basically the "pit" from the first MK arcade game...with the spikes at the bottom.
and if you fall, you get dead.

so the "dangers" i'm planning on throwing in are the spikes for sure, and maybe a few deathtraps if i have the time once it's actually finished.(kinda like MK : Deception)

i'm pretty sure i won't be able to impale the models onto the spikes though...
anybody know how to do that?

(in theory, once it's done...i would release it as a level for other people to use in mods or improve upon...but i dont really know when it'll be done...profs have this habit of throwing massive tests and programs at me constantly... so don't be surprised if it doesn't get released soon )



...this is a screenshot i did last night of the very very very early level...
only like 50-100 spikes so far...(placing that many prefabs get's boring and i think i got a headache from it...)
