To change to a level like that with a ~ or with a space or any other weird character. You need to do it like this:
level "dm-sherwood forest~"
If you have rcon on the server then do it like this:
rcon_request level "dm-sherwood forest~"
It has to have quotation marks around it. The name of the .rfl is the name that is needed to change any level. The name on the .vpp doesn't really matter. Well it does as long as it is named the same as the .rfl file. When you do it this way, it also allows you do see the level name when you first open the file using one of the descent tools available here at the site.
So keyser_soze all you really wanted to know is where that key was at? By it I mean the tilde(~)
Sophie, sorry but I think you might be correct. Also not to highjack this thread. Where is that screen shot of what the file looks like in game, not what you sent me.
I would like to clarify that I have not changed any .rfl titles in any manner. If there is a tilde in the .rfl title it is because someone grabbed the autosaved file and made an export out of it.
There are some .vpp's in which I have added .aif sounds. To differentiate them from conventional .vpp's I have added a "+a" as a pre-suffix.
ie: slamdunk+a.vpp
How many MACs are there in RF? Eleven that I am aware of.

11 macs.
I didn't think there were that many. I only know of two people that use macs for gaming. One of them posted above the other one didn't.
But like I have stated many many times. The .vpp doesn't really matter as much as the .rfl name but it is nice when they both match.
What Hoser Hana did, he did out of love lust for MACS or Red Faction and nothing else.
I could list them - but - I don't want to infringe on their privacy.
I have given a considerable effort into finding MAC players.
In fact I would urge everyone to ask around the servers and tell them the good news - MACs can use custom maps!

Cool. I think I might change my auto message to say that next time I run a server. I encourage you to do the same. Maybe if we all do it, we can get more MAC players to join us in custom servers. I can see it now, the level changes from a default map to a custom and BOOM, we don't lose a single player.
OK I'm seeing things again, but I don't care what that court order says. I'm not taking the medication. The real world is way more interesting than fiction.
