You could but it would be pointless. I tried it once on my laptop when I didn't have enough space on its HD. I only played with it briefly though.
The problem was, you need all the texture files and they take up a huge amount of space so it didn't do me any good in the end lol.
Plus all the little icon images that belong to the various events in the editor are in those files too.
Its far easier to have the whole game installed. |

you wouldnt be able to install it without RF, because teh game is RF, not RED lol... |

You can copy it out of the installed game on another machine.... BUT you MUST own the game yourself otherwise ot would be software piracy which is very naughty indeed.  Still no point doing it though. |

i installed RF to use red at school once ... i was working on a model and the teacher walked in and saw it, she asked me "what are you doing?" ... i told her it was CAD (computer Aided Drafting) software ... she belived it  . But that was cutting it too close for me so i stopped doing that. |

I wish I could play RF at school :/ It's like the Nazis all over again. If you're on any website like a games site or anything and they notice they'll shut the PC down straight away.. They use VNC so you can't get away with anything either  |

Our school has a blocker that will keep us off of site we shouldn't be on, like games, or adult sites ... but there are a few that slip through, unfortunately (a few students have been caught for looking at bad stuff) ... I also know for a fact that the school also has a sniffer to read traffic over ports. because someone got caught for using limewire.
L4Y is a gaming site but i can still access it through the school .. the teachers don't know about it because it is not as popular as the other game site (ex. shockwave.com, candystand.com) isn't available. |

Use a Proxy, thats what I use whilst in college. 
I installed RF on my College PCs, but because we only had one disk to ahve just a quick Lan, I ended up passing the disk around and using Lazy Ban, or using the disk to ge tinto the game... The computers were formatted later on in the day  |

Yeah, you could change the port using a proxy so the sniffer can't identify the program by its port but it would still be able to detect the unusually large amount of traffic going in and out.  . then they would just track down the computer that is causing the traffic, disconnect it, and clean it off. ... i guess i could change the IP address on the compouter to one of the 100's of open ones that have no description of where the computer is (our school has a list of IP addresses of networked items and where they are loacted. all i would have to do is change the IP to one of the available ones. and not list the desciption  ) that would buy time from them finding it.
... then again, maybe im giving the school too much credit, no one here seems that computer savy |

Our skool computer Blocks all downloads apart 4rm *.Zip and *.Rar and THIS WEB SITE...Meannies
I just thought that if i could copy files over on 2 pen drive or Cd i could RUn JUST red Ed so then i dnt get told of 4 games (i already ut Counter Strike 2d on it & got told off) But if i was at this highschool 2 years ago (fourm 3) i could had done all this because they didnt change their rules back then |

is there people at your school who got on L4Y alot? because its possible they were accessing the page alot and some teachers found out and narked.
Our school has a filter over things like searches or websites that are related to Violence, Pornograpy, Acts of Crime and Gaming. But i still can access L4Y from the school which seems cleary under the gaming category to me ...
Then again as i said the filter has failed in the past and no one here is very tech savy ...

Mi skool blocks every thing that has Games, Downloads etc in it (easy 2 find on google)
also assaultman im the only 1 @ mi skool that no's levels4you, Untill today no 3 of us no of it (i asked gaming people and they had nva heard of it )
Our High school is Big (i no cause it the Third high skool ive been 2) and its the secound ive been to, My old skools alowed Levels4you as no 1 new of it, I only found it while in a weird server ad the server posted this site |
