Quoting Kiliad

Like most optical mice it spins out frequently.

I never got that problem with my optical mouse( see on page2 of this thread) but all ways got that with my old ball mouse. that ball mouse was very good till i started playing games (RF) in no time flat the mouse rollers wore out and then the mouse did not want to turn right properly any more. so i got that optical mouse and its been the best $39 i ever spent. that dam ball mouse had to be cleaned every half hour or is would get stuck and all kinds of crap it did.

My mouse always gets dirt on the bottom side so I have to scrape it off...

Also it sometimes gets into the optical bit, and it makes the movement jerky and uncontrollable.. sometimes a hair gets in there and makes it go totally wappy!
Back in RF... getting back into the swing of things!

Yeah me too. although i find the keyboard is not as good as its made out to be.

The Diamondback is good for tracking targets, but not for fast clicking. Unless my finger is worn out now

I use a Logitech Optical Wheel mouse. Can't go wrong with Logitech in my eyes. Got my sound system and headphones by them too!!! I guess the only problem I do have is the spin out problem like Killiad said, every once in awhile. I'll be chasing someone down and all of a sudden I'll be looking in the sky the opposite direction... pain the butt.

The spinning out of control is due to a "bright", "shiny", and/or "glossy" surface that the optical/laser mouse is used on Such as me, if I use the not too shiny wood at the top of my desk, the optical mouse performs wonderful, but when I place it on the wood that is real shiny and reflective, it spins out like a *****. Point is, don't use an optical/laser mouse on shiny, reflective, bright, or glossy surfaces I recommend a dark wood surface, or a good gaming mouse pad, which should cost you around $20-$60 depending on what your willing to spend. There are some nice ones for $30.

@ skvlad01,
PS/2 is NOT more reliable
Take for example this:
I pull out the PS/2 plug to clean it out whilst the computer is still running(Win desktop, or whatever), I go to put it back in, and I get NO mouse But when using USB I can simply hook it back in and out

So, all in all, USB IS of course more reliable

Edit: well this is crap, as soon as I know the model number of that mouselogitech m-s34 the appear everywhere.

I think your finger must be worn out cos the Diamondback has the most responsive, lightest click I have seen on a mouse.

Compaq Wireless Optical Mouse. El cheapo wal-mart/radioshaq brand, but it works wonders. Just, the clickers are too skinney for me to "walk" with two fingers on one button, so I have to click like hell with my pointer finger when trying to rip on a semi-auto gun on most shooters.

Im known for my fast fingers...can unload a 16rnd pistol mag in RF in like .5 seconds. You should see me on the paintball feild...

I just got a new mouse because my other one was really starting to suck. The clicking became very unresponcive. It would take like 5-10 clicks to get a double click. My new mouse is a "Logitech Mx518 Optical Mouse" Seams pretty good sofar. Hopefully it'll last me longer then a year unlike my old mouse.

[edit]

Woops old topic. I guess thats what I get for stalking guests on the online users page. I saw a 16 in the date in the last post and assumed April 16 not February 16.
