There was a place near my uni (somewhere round the BT tower in central london) was a converted cellar of some shops, set up for gaming, wasnt cheap to play there, but it was top notch equipment. I'll see if i can find out what it was called.

If you intend on people bringing their own equipment then some kind of community hall would do. If you dont mind the lack of network access.

I sometimes go to the LAN partys held at Essex Uni held in the underground club. Get to use the uni's net connection too!

Garner might be able to help you, he has/tried(not sure if it went ahead in the end) to organise LAN's like this in the past. Though I expect its much easier to just take over a mates house for a weekend if there aren't stupid numbers of people, like I am doing next week in fact! Looking forward to some multiplayer Empire At War (preordered and getting delivered to his house for when I get there) Smarties, Bacon Crisps and BBQ food! Award Winning Formula!

Heh, im glad you said your interested SKA was hoping you would come.

Well I suppose somewhere Mid-country is fair. However If it was near either me or Skiprat it would be easier to organise.

Some of my step family work in a village/community hall. I wonder if I could rent it out? DISCOUNT! LOL!

Cheers for the info Cyrus5, if you can find out the details on that place would be handy

BTW my area is West-Sussex (South-East) and Skiprat is Essex (I think)

Yeah, Garner, Msm1000, MadMorning all were at uni there, I lived up there for a year with msm after i finished my course in london. Nice place colchester, one of the nicer places I've lived! Their Job Centre was quite nice, saw alot of that place!

Oh, btw, the place in london was called "The Playing Fields" but they seemed to have closed. I guess it was a while ago when I was last there (2001/2 )

There seem to be alot of LAN organisations around, might be worth seeing how much it costs top go to them, you could either go along to one that is already being run, or you could see if they offer some sort of service for organisation/infrastructure, might be worth doing if there are alot of people. if you think that you need to get power cables around, networking, event organisation, its probably no mean feat if you end up with more than about 10-15 people. These setups probably have their own ups systems and network racks to use.

Just did a quick google:
