I am just wondering with all this new technology, how does RF run?
What does RF run like using dual cored processors, and what does it run like using the latest Sli video card technology? please any one that has dual core or/and especally Sli please let me know if RF runs properly because I want to build the best holy $hit compy ever but want to know if RF will be all right, coz its my favorite game  |

With the dual core processors you have to set the compatibility to Windows 98 otherwsie RF doesn't run properly. As for SLI read above ^^ |

The_Doc do you really think that is a dual core issue or more of a Windows XP issue. I don't have dual cores on my PC and if I don't set it to run in windows98/ME mod then it runs choppy.
I didn't have that problem under Windows ME but trust me, NOW I would rather have XP than ME. It took me a while to convert but it did happen.  |

ive got windows XP on three computers, two of them work perfectly fine, but my third one has two CPUs and it is choppy ... so i think it isn't a Windows XP problem, its a multicore problem ... |

IF I run Red Faction on regular mod(not windows98/me), my video gets choppy. It's not just me, a lot of other players have reported this problem. A problem that only came about when Windows XP came out... 
I recently started using lazyban 130 again, I wanted to be able to join all servers again and I forgot to change the compatibility setting on the short cut icon and guess what...CHOPPY VIDEO!. It was very apparent when more than one player joined the server. 
So again IMO opinion, it isn't just a dual core thing, it could also be a WinXP thing, or do I dare say a Red Faction thing. You know the game design is a little too old now.  |

thats great news for the SLi  yay i will have to see what happens when i get my new computer. GeForce 8 in SLi here I come
im bulding my computer at the end of this year. to bad i cant get any single cored CPU's any more. The AMD FX64 series is now dual cored
Edit: I dont use Win Xp i use Win2k and with that i get average 450-500 Frames per second +
when i get my new computer I will have to use win Xp coz SLi mode will only work under Xp. I hate Xp coz its such a resorce guzler, so I will use XP striped to the bone edition No $hitiness there |

NCF, just to state, ME is probably the worst operating that the worst computer company came out with.... i mean tuis worse that DOS...
Ive installed MS DOS 5.0 and ive found it easyer than ME, ME is just full of bugs  srry |

It isnt an XP thing, and it isnt a Dual core thing, its combination of botht hat has emerged from RFs old code.
If you want to try survival servers get a Hyper-Threading server running XP, and get them to turn off 98 compatibility mode, then the weapons dont respawn thats interesting.  |

no i was talking bout Win2k, u know windows 2000, the thing winXp was built off. its very sable compared to XP only coz Xp is full of bloat ware kind of stuff |

we were talking about Frank and ME...
but, i do find win2k safe yes, i do find that XP has more features though... like the internet tools on XPprof so you can run an FTP server from your machine |
