It has been quite long since I have spoken anything about my mod.

This is just because I have got nothing to tell about.
Anyway currently I am working on concept basics for my mod and once I got it done I will be able to define what kind of action my mod will be.
But sure is that I make it more like Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell styled action rather than counter-strike clone.

Also when I get website done I will come to public with my mod.

I am currently working on gameplay concept. At this point one thing is sure. Single and multiplayer gameplay will be more than "shoot everything that moves". I am trying to add aspects from rainbow six and splinter cell. (ofcourse making tribute to "legacy of looking glass studios")
Also I am planning somekind of item and character development system.

Anyway it would be nice to know WHO does own rights to fallout series.

Btw. I will add few new and change some names of weapons for players for first release of mod. (IE. make shotgun to shoot singleshots on primary)

I believe Monothith owns the rights to the Fallout games, not sure though. It's been ages since I've played any of the games. Good luck with the mod, looking forward to seeing progress.

I hope your not talking about making the Shotgun fire only one shell on primary, if so that is not possible because it is hard coded into RF.exe I believe

Exactly that is what I am talking about.

I would guess that I need to change that into first version to proof that I really know some inside stuff (look at hive mod PSG-1 sniper in game)

It's not hardcoded, I believe the people who made ISM did it.


I may be able to help with the table editing...

I remember enough of it to do the needed stuff, like changing the sounds and hud reticles.

I remember one time I made a client side mod where all the weapons had more fitting sounds, like the HMG having the sounds of the machine gun on the fighter.

Yeah you can do what ever you want with the shotgun. you can make 1 shoot 1 round of 1 projectile or 34 rounds with 10 Projectiles

I don't think making the shotgun fire one round on primary is possible to do in weapons.tbl because you can take another weapon and paste it over the shotgun in the TBL and change the pref and cycle positions and it still uses two rounds.

yes you can make it fire one round, but your ammo counter still goes down two.

You are on half right, it is not that simple, you need to know a bit of inner functionality of table files, to add and modify any exsisting weapon (except flamer's flame props via emmitters).

Anyway I think that I will write an small mod where I have changed functionality of shotgun (shots single shots instead of dual).

Currently my main focus is on school and getting personal life back to tracks, so outcluding it I won't have much time.

well good luck, the hive team couldn't make it only use one round I don't see how you can.

Yeah well, I quess I should keep little more noise about my mod.

Three has been progress, although not yet visible. I have been working for my website and other mod related things.

I am going to work on my mod's desing concept and website.
Only thing that is sure about my mod now is that it will be realistic warfare action including vehicles.

I will put more information for my mod's official site which I will tell after I get site on air.

However I need also to focus on school, so I won't be able to do much during this week as I need to recap for one examination retake. :C

Even if you could get vechiles working in Multiplayer there would still be the Client/Server bug which means only the server could use the vechiles.. or at least thats how it is for alot of other things like security cameras in MP, AI in MP.

Weapons aren't hardcoded.
The names for them are.
When a weapon is called "Shotgun" it will always take 2 bullets on primary fire. Even if the weapon looks like a chicken.

Don't just change the properties of exisiting weapons, you can also create "new" ones. However they won't be much different.
I think the scope rifle is one of the weapon that has no hardcoded scripts at all.
You could create a shotgun of this gun if you wanted. (but again you dont have to use existing weapon names)

Vehicles in MP is pure dreaming. It will never work.
