hi, i was just woundering if there was a certain consle command, mod or somthing that will make the weapon disapear from the corner of the screen, so that i will be able to do a machinia peice with my freinds.

*i have tried spectator mode but i need to be able to move freely with the camera char.

im not smart enough to use the editor and my friends would like to be able to be in it

so you're making a movie and youre acting it out with freinds ... is there a way you could make a server your freinds could act and you could record via spectater mode?

Enter the Options /Player
Then change the shown weapon to "Hidden"
You can also Hide the entire hud by checking "Hide HUD" in the huds options.
Only your crosshair will remain on the screen, go in the Weapons options, uncheck use custom reticles and choose the hidden reticle, which will be applyed on all weapons.

Now the whole screen is cleared.


You can always record a game by typing in the console
demorec XXX (where XXX is the name of the video)
stopdemo will stop recording and saving the videofile

demoplay XXX will play the recorded video.

These videos were not recorded and saved as a video file such as AVI or wmv. They only keep the information of where the players walk, shoot and that stuff. Like a replay of the game.
But it is much better to record games with UT first. You get a higher framerate and no lags while recording UT videos.

Machinima in Unrealed is pretty hard and time consuming. How do you make custom animations? do u have to extract the characters?

the only thing in my player options is small weapons and that wont work, and i tried to throw the weapons but i cant throw away the sheild gun

Didn't I say you should try to HIDE the weapon by choosing "Hidden" at the weapon options? Right above that "small weapons"

I'd also like to know where you can get the default animations (or whole skeletons) of UT2004s characters, but can't find them.

The 2 new characters in the update using the default animations which saves alot of time.. It's like you've got to do nothing when you have these animations.
Is there a way to export them? Or perhaps theres somewhere a developement kit? Never seen one.
Hey, probably they are on disk6 or something.. I've seen some source files (pcx images) on that disk. I've been working on a new character (Moe from the simpsons mod. Done over 30 animations but I think 60 are needed.. lol GOod thing is that they are looking unique)
