how do you make a triger activated sound in a multi player map. so far i tryed > triger_door---->play_sound. but this does not seem to work. the only way i could get it to work was by making a small invisible keyframe with the sound on (stop sound or start sound) but i dont want to do it this way, I want to do it the proper way

if your making a sound for a door ya should deffinitly use keyframes.
r u just using sound for doors or anythingy else cause its different if your gonna use play_sound from keyframe

lol i think u mean certain i was wondering wat u meant. im pretty sure that they work in multi player not to sure but some times they dont work for some reason becuase:
-there might be a file in your c:games/redfaction/usermaps/single or in c:games/redfaction/usermaps/multi which has --a file size of 0 so to check it just hit sort by size and if u see a file size 0 delete it. and also theres a trick Goober told me before where u can repeat the sound over and over but i forgot it. if it doesnt work just tell me and ill try to figure wat has gone wrong and how to fix it
EDIT: i miss spell alot to like words whcih hasvnt been used in ages and they sound simple but r dam ahrd to remember to spell

any way i will try all these things and tell you how they go
Open it up in RED and head towards the Building with a Burger on the side. Once you enter, you will see a speaker in the right top corner, and next to it is a tiny box that is textured with invisible texture and its keyframed.
Have a look at its properties to see how I did it.
