If you are planning on playing on the same PC, you need to type in a port different from the dedicated server. Red Faction default port is 7755. There are a lot of other variables, but since you didn't tell us what program you were using to host your server, and whether or not you are using a router, it really is difficult to give you a complete answer. I am 1000% sure you can't get in the skybox, maybe he means the secret in the HSBC tower... I just don't know.
