I object to this:
Quoting NerdTest.com |
Which of the following is not a real programming language?
BASIC
C++
PASCAL
Assembly
FORTRAN
COBOL |
They are ALL a real programming language! To think, nerds wouldn't object to this? What sort of morons built this test? They should know that we'd figure this out and object. As such, they'd have to include at least one language that is completely false, so as to stop the torrent of mail that could be sent.
I suppose, technically, Assembly is not a real language, as it varies from computer to computer; and the full name for the language is "Assembly Language" (or Assembler). Still, it is referred to by many as simply "Assembly". For those who wondered, I did put "Assembly" down as the incorrect answer.
My results are:
Quote | 41% scored higher (more nerdy), and
59% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:
Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers. |
This is weak! I've spent my life in attempts to be a nerd ("nerdiness" eventually equates money and prestige (especially when you can fix a comp for a frustrated user, or program a custom application)). Sure, you may laugh, but I have (for I have no life!). Yes, you may begin calling me the biggest uber-nerd in the world and joke about me behind my back (or in front of me, whichever you prefer). |
