Three places:
1.) \UT2004\System folder
2.) Should have put a desktop icon for it
3.) XP: Start->All Program->Unreal Tournament 2004->Unreal Editor |

im doing an in-depth tutorial of UnrealED, and i should be able to get something done and released by at the most a week. it has alot of oprotunities, thats the worst thing about RED, the limitations REDs a much easier editor though. |

UnrealEd can be a huge CENSORED sometimes, but as goober mentioned it, there aren't so many limitations. You can create alot more than unreal been using before.
I mean for RedFaction you can only create stuff that was done somewhere else in the game. Plus you can't modify anything without forcing the players to run a mod.
I love to create maps that modify the game just for one match.
In the InstallationXY15 map I've changed the UDamage model to the one that RedFaction originally uses. In RFkitchen I've done changes on the Raptor fighter, I've extended its properties and made a new vehicle of it, that is only used in this level, and the user has to do nothing but loading the map to play with it.
Stuff like this is impossible to do in RedFaction.
Now in my newest map -BlastedCanyon another remake, (I thought I was making it for private use only, but it became such a cool level so I'm going to release it.) I'm using fake geomod on some regions. You can destroy parts of walls almost like in RedFaction.
I'm just loving these possibilities
Why did I say the editor can sometimes be a CENSORED you ask?
Because the engine is weak when it comes to brushes. You can do almost nothing with them. Most of the time I was spending on fixing the leaks of the brushes, they keep coming back here and there. This is very frustrating. I think the engine of unreal was done to use complex Static meshes and simple shapes of brushes that substracting the space for them. Faces of brushes doesn't even use smoothing groups.
If you move a brush's vertex away just one milimeter you'll get leaks all over the place. Trust me, RedFaction is totally different if it comes to brushes.

I keep the look of the level the same as the original one again. Doesn't mean this was no work I love to play the classics again Bots forever!
btw. goober, I'm looking forward to see some work of you |

wow that looks pretty good ...
and i definitely know what you mean about the brushes, they are hard to work with ...
i spent a lot of time already just learning the basics of muniplating the brushes. |

Frog and assaultman, if you go back to the days of Unreal, Unreal Return to Na Pali and UT99, everythign was done with Brushes, and you could do alot of nice things with brushes. UED3 and the Engine 2 actually improve with BSP. BSP is even more nicer now than it ever was. Yeah the current engine was designed with static meshes in mind, but BSP will always be supreme to static meshes. You two arnt used to Brushes, Ive designing maps since Unreal 1's UED, so im used to it and can do things with it. |
