I'm a NEW ADMIN, well somewhat, lol. There's still things I haven't learned yet. How do I upload mods, maps, etc. into the server? |

Well, You can get the new UT2004MI cache extractor for a first step. It will take all of the maps you have downloaded while entering servers (in the last 14 days) and you can save the ones that you liked into your game. Click the -downloads then the -tools link to find it on this site. |

I am very sorry for the late response buddy... I think what you will want to get is this. After you go into other servers for awhile or download them [maps] from our site here. Then put the corresponding files with their folders in the Unreal system folder. "helpful thread". What you need to do is open up your ports on your router if you are hosting the server from your house. It will most likely be necessary because you'd better have a high speed connection with a router. The ports that need to be opened are:
7777-7779 - Protocol UDP <-- actual server
80 - Protocol UDP &TCP <-- Web Admin.

where do I find or figure out ther FTP? I was told by 1 of my clan memberes that I neded that to put them in, lol. & to fix some MODS. How do I get the FTP? |

goober the WS_FTP program is in the Red Faction section for one reason and one reason alone. Garner never deleted from the site. We use to have win.rar and win.zip and other files that got removed from the site when we changed formats. The FTP program got passed Garner because it was in the tool section of Red Faction where I had hid it. 
* Hopes Garner doesn't read this thread and deletes it.  *
geramie you don't need an FTP program to run a server. If you have mods you might think about renting a server with redirect if not then you will have to configure you ut2004 file to allow downloads from your server but the draw back in that is that it will lag your server if the files are to big or too many players are on it. |

goober you type it in Internet Explorer and it will/should launch the game and take you to the server directly. Bypassing the server browser window completely.
It's a VCTF server, and if you don't have any of the levels, it does have a redirect. I am not completely sure if it will allow you to see the server unless you have at least one VCTF map installed. Currently the server has 174 maps in rotation, it's set at random but it's funny, it play some of the maps a lot more than others. 
I just checked and it still works.  You can even create a short-cut in Internet Explorer to it. What I did was save any web page. Then name it my server, then went into the properties of the web link and change the URL to this: ut2004://noclanfrank.game-host.org:7777/ and it works that way. It's a good way to a join server without having to go through the server browser list. |

thanks frank, ill try that in a minute. it will actomatically download the files if i dont have them right? thats a great feature. i was playing UT04 this morning to get a feel for it, testing out the weapons and stuff. MAN! the translocator is SWEET! you can also kill yourself very easly with it though |

You will find that there are no translocators on my server unless the author of the map added them to the map. 
I run a VCTF server, there is no need to escape the cowards way. Real men drive away. |

BTW goober you know you can change the voice right. You know from male to female. I prefer the female voices over the man's voice, they seem to be a little clearer. |
