I am trying to find a way to setup maps so you can have more distruction
when a wepon is fired. Fast kill? and blowing up maps?
I have the VPP builder but i am new to this.
Any help?

hi and welcome to L4Y,
edit you weapons.tbl: you can find it in your RF folder and then in your tables.vpp
extract it and edit it |

thewn make sure you run it as a mod, not replacing ther one in your tables.vpp |

I an new to this editing. I have extracted the wepons file but have nothing to edit the tbl with.
Sorry for the dumb questions but again i am new to this.
I am trying to make the server a little more fun.

Something like the Weird Server, When you fire a rocket or some kind of missel it blows up a lot more of the map than standard.

Ok found out how to edit the wepons file. Now i have to figer out the
level of damage i want. Any Ideas on amount and what file i need to put the wepons back in wepons?

Reminds me of a time when people accused me of overworking the filter. Self-censoring is something everyone should do. Nice that you made it obvious you self-censored.
Back on topic
Mess around with the values, usually the higher the better. Just find a spot where you do the most damage without half-killing your computer.
Ghostkid (? Whoever it was that said kladblok), kladblok is notepad, which is the same thing MS calls their text editor.
For a VPP editor, I'd recommend VPView32, as it keeps the code in line. The thing about using IDEs and other editors when programming is that when you export the code, it is smashed together to compress space (yes, whitespace does equate to disk space wasted, so the IDE takes as much of it out as possible). When writing in Notepad, the whitespace remains, so the stuff is legible.
The point of that statement was that you should use the integrated viewer in VPView32 when you modify your files. |

you can open any file in notepad, all documents had to come from script at some time, but i would recommend using Decent Managers .vpp tools for editing RF files though. it seems RF uses alot of its own formats insted of universal ones.

hey do u mean u want ot make normal weapons do geo-mod damage like the new games which are out how like u shoot a pistol at a wall and a shunk of wall comes out. ya could do that with red faction |

Thanks to all, I did play around with the values and got the damage
to work on the maps. Now the problem i have is when i load it
for the server and i go up on the other computer to test it out.
I cant get in, It says i don't have the date of the servers file.
Also when i try to join other servers it says the same thing.
Hmm Now what. Are they talking the dats on the Table.vpp file?
Thanks to all of you for putting up with a newbe to this editing stuff.
After i get this Date thing right then i want to mod some wepons.
