Yeah keyframes, lighting, conveyer belts, the things I have no idea about. And brushmaking so for a set of stars without haveing 15+ brushes and no width split of 30 (more advanced than noob brushwork)

I'm good with stairs and conveyor belts, but if you want in depth RED tutorials why not go to RedTech?

Well heres an easy to tutorial to making a stair case:

1.First make a 20x20x20 box to put your stuff into

2.then make a really tall brush: height-6 width-8 depth-0.50 then add 8 splits in the height and make it a solid brush.

3.Now go to face mode.

4.click on the 2nd face of the brush and hit extrude once, click on the next face and hit extrude twice. Keep going on this process extruding once more on every face.

5.Once you are done you should come up with something like this:

6.Now that you have your stairs created you will have to be able to walk on it. Go into brush mode.

7.Create a solid detail face brush and increase its radius until it covers the whole entire stair case.

8.Once you have done that you will have to rotate it on top of the staircase by "r" + "arrow keys". This part may take a while but it helps sometimes if you rotate by 1 degrees or stick your mouse cursur in different view ports other than the free look.

9.Now you will need to texture the face brush and the stairs as well.
Give the Face brush the cem_invisible03.tga texture located underneath the effects folder. Now build, create level packfile then play level.

There you have it a staircase If you had problems while reading this tutorial or you just didn't understand it at all(sorry if I didn't have that much images) then you might as well go to RedTech and ask other people, because I myself am not that good at explaining things. If you did understand it then keep practicing and someday you might be able to make something like this:

Wow that's quite a staircase. I'm currently working on the tutorials in Distorted Productions.

NO no no no nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

You only need to click extrude once on each step. You can then move that face up again to raise it's height. No need to extrude like the 10th step 9 times creating shed-loads of unnecessary faces!!!

But doing it in face mode like that will still create more faces than just a stack of brushes next to eachother. You can always fuse the brushes together to form one brush afterwards, although I'd rarely advise using the fuse function in RED.

Whats wrong with the fuse function?

it creates an unnessacary amount of faces, most of the time.

EDIT: like, if you have 2 boxes that line up perfectally, sure fuse them. but if you have say a air cylinder joining a air box, and you fuse it, it will add 20+ unnesscary faces...

There's very few occasions in RED where you actually need to use FUSE.

I've never used fuse before, I mostly make everything in face mode and vertex mode nowadays.

you need to for my transparent mover thingy, and if you want to put 2 movers on one brush then you have to fuse.

The Distorted Productions tutorials are pretty good. Although I noticed a small similarity between Red Tech's tutorial compared to this one. Coincidence?

The only thing I don't really like in "Distorted Productions" tutorials is how to teach how to make a ladder but I now wouldn't do them that way. They have you make a brush for ever step, which is a wast of brushes when you can get away with using a thin solid (detail) brush and using the ladder texture from grating files in RED. Just remember to UV wrap it to make it look better.

Yeah I like to create almost everything out of one single brush, and most of the times they can be complicated things.
