Hey what was wrong with this site at 7.00am to 7.53pm?I coudnt view the site coz it said the connection timed out and now it can be viewd.What just happened was there a server problem or what? |

Its just the server playing up.
This site has a massive server load each day, the amount of hits and transfers this site has are going to be huge ammounts.
My site has some downtime too, happens to the best of sites |

The server is still playing up, since the harddrive replacement its crashed twice more - one of which was last night.
Server hosts took the server offline to check it out about a week ago, promised to get back to me with results of their checks. Never did so. As its crashed again since the schedule for moving all the servers away from ServerBeach is being brought forward. Their prices are just not competitive and their customer support isn't really above sub par. The quality of the service can be summed up when this server was new and had a fault RAM chip. They assessed the problem was RAM related and then tried to schedule a time to swap the faulty chip out for a new one. Considering the server was down at the time and wouldn't stay stable for more than 5 minutes unless the chip was switched there was no point in waiting. Yet they did.
We had a similar problem with the new file server back when it was new (RAM must love me...), the new hosts just replaced it and told me afterwards what had gone wrong. No waiting to schedule the maintenance in... it was just done.
So two very similar incidents, Serverbeach took 2 days to get it resolved. New hosts I had the machine back up with the new chip in just over an hour.
New hosts are also cheaper, offer FAR more server configurations and only charge one off fees for server hardware upgrades/additions whilst ServerBeach you're practically paying for a brand new 80Gb drive every 2 months in additional monthly fees just for having an 80Gb drive sitting in your machine.
Unfortunately its a bad time to switch servers... it'll either get done inbetween Christmas and New Year or in January sometime. Until then be prepared for occasionaly random outages. |

i got this once but i was at school and i wasnt ment to be on the net hehe i got banned from it |

That happens to most of us at school or college in my case

We cant do that in our schools.The teacher is always watching us and all of the schools computers are linked to the teacher in the Computer Room wich has 200 computers.100 for each room. |
