I am making a single player level for red faction and i was wondering how do you make a custom message for a message event ... i went into message properties and that it has a message Id #, so i figure you have to write the # and words on a text doc somewhere but where ?

Edit: wait i think i found it!!!

... i should really solve my own problems before coming to you guys .

ok, now i have another problem

you list the messages with #'s but what do you use? <>, [], :, )?

and how do you list an end game event?

i have the same problem with hus messages they dont work because my cd is screwed but when u make a single player map u dont really need hud messages if u make the levels straight forth on where to go and wat to do. u can always have a Notepad or WindowsDocument to explain wat to do in each levels that could help mainly with places where u really need a hud message but it wont work. i make all my levels without hud messages

i tried that before but ill try again inase i stuffed up thew first time then ill make hud mesages ty diesel

for running as mod in 1.2 extract the game.tbl from tables.vpp and change the "first level file name" to the name of your map, then peopl can just run it as a mod. *a very basic knowledge of modding will be needed to get this method to work*

Now all i gotta do is figure out the end game text for if a UID is killed ...
im gonna check the site you gave me ...

Edit: Freakin sweet it was located right by the other topic ... still havent tried tried either one of the code types out though.
