hi! I would like to know how creates an invisible texture with photoshop for example this texture I will want that all the invisible yellow oneself when I aplic texture on a solid brush is detail:
if you could answer me in French would be very nice but if you know the solution and that you are not French known as too it me

hi, do you have any photoshop or something ? if not -->The gimp is a free photo editting program: www.gimp.com
if yes: you need to open the texture with it and make the yellow transparent...i cant explain in english...its not that good..srr    |

There is an alternative way. but you have to have JASC Paint Shop Pro 7.
You need to use something called "Alpha Channeling". Alpha Channeling allows you to cut out a certain piece of texture to make it invisble, but the colour remains.
Red Faction uses Alpha Channeling alot for purposes of "Brush Limits"... Why create a full brushed Jail Cell (for example) when you can just make one big box brush and Texture it and make the Yellow parts "See-Through". Then it looks like a Jail. If you want, I can alpha Channel that texture for you and post a link to the picture for you to download. Then ive saved you the problem

Here is a way to connect.
Open up a windows for example "My Documents"
In the address bar above, type in ftp.levels4you.com
When a box is promt, type both the user name and password as l4y.
Look for a file called grilleredfinvis5mk.zip Basically copy and paste it to somewere onto your computer
your texture should be in that zip file. Extract to your User_maps\Textures folder. |

I did not include/understand very well the system of spikey and I not to little download a file on server ftp of level4you.
and for the software that my to present ghostkid in a bond and well I do not see what fair to download this.
I still do not know creates of invible texture in TGA  |

Its not as easy as you think... but I would recomend that you read up on it. |

Ok, heres a French translation.
Bien j'ai téléchargé votre image mais ce n'est pas facile..
Vous aurez besoin d'effectuer une procédure d'entrée au L4Y site de ftp. Est ici une façon pour connecter.
Ouvrir en haut une fenêtres par exemple « Mes Documents » Dans la barre d'adresse au-dessus, le type dans ftp.levels4you.com Quand une boîte est promt, taper le nom d'utilisateur et le mot de passe comme l4y. Chercher un dossier appelé grilleredfinvis5mk.zip
Fondamentalement copie et le colle à quelques-uns étaient sur votre ordinateur.
Votre texture doit être dans ce dossier de fermeture éclair. Extraire à votre Utilisateur_les cartes\le dossier de Textures. |

Vous avez besoin d'utiliser quelque chose a appelé « l'Alpha Dirigeant ». Diriger d'alpha vous permet de découper un certain morceau de texture pour le faire invisble, mais les restes de couleur.
La Red Faction rouge utilise l'Alpha Dirigeant beaucoup pour les buts de « les Limites de Brosse » ... Pourquoi créer une Cellule de Prison brossée pleine (par exemple) quand vous pouvez juste fait une grands brosse de boîte et la texture il et fait les parties jaunes « Transparentes ». Alors il a l'air d'une Prison. Si vous voulez, je peux la Chaîne d'alpha cette texture pour vous et poste un lien à l'image pour vous télécharger. Alors je vous ai épargné le problème. |

levels4you's ftp server is not a warehouse where you can store everything you want and i doubt you could download anything from it with the "l4y" password.
if you want to have files available for download , i suggest either to have them on your personal site/online space or to open a cdc, or to store them (if they are images) on image shack. and post them on the forum. |

It was just one little file that is all. Im pretty sure it wont hurt one bit. and by the looks of it, hes got it so you could possibly remove it. I do not have a personal site or ftp. I tried everything to "Putfile.com" but they would not allow me to place zip or tga files.
So my next option was to place it onto L4Y. Im quite aware of the fact and do not need to be explained to me

I believe image shack has limited resources too. The file I was trying to upload was a tga file.
There is no link to any forum on image shack and Image shack allows Jpeg, jpg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff and swf.

i'm nearly sure downloading from the ftp server with a ftp client and "l4y" as a password, won't work.
If everythingthing fail,in last resort, you can upload it onto my site.
