I remember long ago, for about 3 or so years straight I played Red Faction Online everyday, and was damn good at it.
Of course, like every game we buy, we forget about it over time and it fades into the past wasted nights with a railgun hiding behind a wall that you dug your own hole to...
Regardless, after moving to CS1.6, then Doom3, then CS:Source, and a host of other games I'd been playing, RF just ceased to exist (I think i reformatted and never bothered to re-install), until recently...
I was visiting my mother in a neighboring city when her boyfriend's child was playing RF on the PS2. I yanked the controller from him and instantly my mind was jarred with all of the memories from playing RF. It also jarred me with the realization that the PS2 version is crap compared to PC with it's limited multiplay (no CTF, smaller maps, altered, limited Geo-mod).
Regardless, I felt the need to play it again. Drop all of my other games and play RF. Well, turns out this is the last surviving community, everything else is dead. Aparantly so is the THQ master server, which is supposedly going to be back up on the 24th.
So I frantically searched for my RF disks... and to no avial, I just can't find them! I don't know where it could be...
Anyway, my point is,
1. Can someone help me get RF back... somehow, I don't care how.
2. Do you really believe the main servers will be back?
3. Is sniper city still the hottest map of the decade?
4. What is the other "master server" I hear being talked about?
5. :*( I hope RF will live. |

if you PM me, i can help you, but i cant talk about it in public... as it involves downloading...
and yes, i believe the main server will be back, but even if it doesnt, theres a number of alternate servers that we could switch to if need be

Ah I got ya... wink wink, nudge nudge.
Yeah, I used the name Mr. White on viper 3 usually (or any place with blasted canyon or whatever else running if I wasnt a fan of the map viper was playing at the time, but I do remember the name Hellhound. |

He is right the PS2 version is a piece of crapo compared to the PC version, I played it and wow how much did it really stink  |
