Whenever i click on RED it says "Cannont Open RED MFC Application"
What do i have to do to open RED?Reinstall RF? |

what computer are you trying to run it on? Back on my old (i mean old) PC everytime i tryed to open RED i would get errors and eventually the blue screen of death. |

Try setting your resolution down to 16bit, you know down from 32bit.  |

I would recommend re-install RF in the same directory to overwrite RED with the orginal version off the CD.
Thats a very strange error there, I have never came across that one before. |

did you more the acuall application out of the RF folder? |

No i didint modify or move any files in RF or in RED. This has happened to me a lot of times but it usually goes back to normal in a couple of hours this is too long.I,ll reinstall RF then  Maybe in the morning.Yay schools out!  NCF the answer you gave me is for the "Run out of video memory" Error i think. |

Try disabling Windows Error Reporting for your programs only...
Do you have an obscene amount of textures in your textures folder? I have around 3,500 in there and it still loads fine but I don't know if there is a limit.
Is it possible to run RED in compatibility mode for Win 98? I don't know cos I've never had to... but it's another thing to try before you go uninstalling and reinstalling RF |

Deleting the Red/red.cfg?  Sometimes that helps with errors loading RED. |

I,ve deleted red.cfg and i use Windows XP.Looks like reinstalling RF is the solution  Thanks for the help though. |

Yeah i had that too until i used Open Office Document and went into c:/games/RedFaction and made a shortcut on the desktop and now i can use Red Optimized.
Another prob.The Grate type of textures makes my computer shout down and reboot. |

you have to unrar all files in the RED optimized rar file to your main RF directory, |
