I stumbled upon the Unreal Developers Network site, and it gives alot of good information, including tutorials, about making levels, characters, vehicles, animations, physics (karma), lighting and a bunch of other stuff. Along with export and importing plug-ins for a few 3d creation programs like Studio Max, and Maya.

There are a few restricted parts of the site for their newer engins, such as the U2.5, U2x, and U3 engine (unless you are an engine licensee), but the U2 engine stuff is open to the public.
