i totally agree those ships ! they are so expensive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and lpa has begon to be stupid, and i was eliminated in 10 days....

Maybe we're all mapping, eh? Didn't think of that, did you? I'd urge everyone to not post, as this is a mapping competition, not a bragging competition.

My own level, although only 1% complete, is planned to be huge (might have to seriously scale it down though, it's over 110 meters (or whatever the units are) long, and will have another huge level after that). So, I don't exactly have time, ngoober to post pictures.

If people want an idea of what I'm doing, it's a giant prison where Parker is sent to wait to go into the gas chamber. On your way there (might use a cutscene) Parker escapes, and the fun begins. Knowing fully well that you're a dangerous mass murderer, the guards waste no time in getting there. Realizing they'll need support, they send out some robots and mercs. If you make it out alive, you will have to fight your way to the RF base (all while on a spiffy ship you "borrowed") (this idea may be cut out. If it is, you'll escape and launch a radio signal. You then must fight past fairly infinate enemies until the RF (maybe SEFOTRF) gets there).

Now, if that's not a mildly spiffy idea, what is? Well, it isn't, so the only redeeming factor is that I'll be using custom textures (gasp!) to texture the cell-level of the prison. This level has been in my head for a while, and since it contains little story and no real intellect in making it (and I need something quick to map), I'll throw it out (yep, nice how SPMC author cheaps out on his map for the first version of SPMC, but it will be good enough that you'll play it, so long as you realize that it's practically a remake of another SP map to which I don't remember).

I have a problem with my map. Whenever i go to the wall metal textures my computer reboots and Microsoft said that it was a problem with the video card.Its getting annoying and stopping my progress

that means u dont have enough ram or a good enough video card to support what u are trying to do. are u trying to get the texture from acustom or is a default?

Its a default texture.The one commonly used in making air vents.You no the rusty metal texture used commonly in vents.

Trigger, my post was a joke. I'm only 1% done (right now, it's basically a "skybox" (well, outside room that is meant to act like a skybox, with the added feature of possibly using it to get around obstacles) and a room that is empty. If you're looking for dimensions, the "skybox" is roughly 120 units long by 70 units wide by 50 or so units high (huge). The room inside is supposed to act like a holding cell, and it has a door (a nice one and (not overly proud, but I'm not a proud person, mostly an idiot) its my first actual door that I have a use for (other than before when I'd use them to accomplish no real purpose)) that leads into a small hallway.

The textures are basic and aside from the skybox (which took almost 2 hours to UVUnwrap because I had to find a way to cut down all the PS2 faces while having the same texture line up (I had to pick a texture that didn't naturally continue when you click "apply map"), it is really basic stuff (cement texture in room, cheap little roof texture to simulate ventilation shafts, etc).

Now, if that level isn't pathetic, what is? Its really the sort of stuff a noob would write for his first level. The biggest joke is this will be an SPMC level. At least this will test my skills- making a map in less than a month that will be professional quality, out of the map I have now. We're all doomed... [At least Pred's entry will be better (I asked him if he'd like his SEFOTRF levels as an entry. If he replies, I'll find a way (maybe with a mini-level) to combine the two into something coherant (one is a water level, one is in a cavern, definately need mini-level). If he refuses, well his entry will then be a picture of an alien ripping Trigger's spine and then strangling him with it)]

Nope its not pathetic at all.I,m a noob mapper too.I just learnt how to use RED 4 months ago.I,m a nude noob mapper an proud of it.
