I have just sent an e-mail to voltion.
I don't think I'll get an answer tough, but its worth a try, isnt it?

Hello Volition Team!
I have a question which refers to the RFToolkit (1.0)
To make it short..
I don't have a clue how to create LODs on static meshes (v3d's ->v3m's)
I know Red Faction uses them for items and clutter objects.
The only way I can get them to work is on the characters.
(dog.vcm [main model] , ....dog_b.vcm and dog_c.vcm would be the LODs for example)
Do I have to use special (and perhaps renamed) modifiers?
Or does the version of ccrunch can't do it? I don't know how RF was developed and with which programs. Perhaps somebody knows it and can answer it without wasting too much time.
An answer of any kind is highly appreciated.
I know the game is old.. but I'm still addicted to it as much as many others are.
Probably there isn't anyone in the team that knows the game anymore because it has changed so much?
You've done a great job on the game! I wish there wasn't so many hardcoded limitations, tough
Thanks for your time!!

I'm asking myself this question since I've done my first model.
How the hell is it possible to create LODs on clutter objects?
Ccrunch that came with the toolkit must be a different software as volition used to develope the game.

if Ccrunch was created by a different company, you would be e-mailing the wrong company lol. But in this case, you should be able to get a good answer from them since they used that sort of stuff too.
