In short... running around an abandoned MOD base with 149 other people waving guns at each other
Recently got hit by the airsofting bug... now I've started playing I just cant stop. Its an addictive sport!
Today I invited a few mates along... plus my boss. Somehow my finger got very itchy when pointing my gun at my boss but I somehow restrained myself...
Plus his day was going great for the first 5 minutes of the first game until he took the whole thing a little too seriously, did a dive and jarred his knee. His knee was causing him to hobble during the day but its seized up completely apparently when he got home so he cant get into work tomorrow.
I also work with his Dad... so I'm hoping he's explained to him that none of it was my fault
The group of us that went captured at a random moment by a random photgrapher in between games. The shot is perfectly straight on me so its a little hard to work out what I'm holding... 'tis a P90 (the size of the mag pouches on my belt should give it away really )

Dunno what he's doing... I was talking to Madmorning at the time... didn't notice him doing it. Didn't notice the camera guy at that time at all either...
Perhaps should explain that Airsoft guns fire 6mm plastic balls, aka BB (Bullet Balls... not Ball Bearings... bad coincidence with the naming of the airsoft ammo... often gives people the wrong idea ) up to 60-70 metres.
Think of it as Paintball but without the awful looking guns and paint |

Wow, didn't know this was becoming so big. Do you have any links as to where I can see some of this equipment Garner? I'm in college and there's seriously nothing to do during the day, so me n my buddies have been looking for something to try. This fits the description (this and paintball anyway).
As for the pic, errrr...yeah no comment. |

Nevermind on those links Garner I managed to find a good one to stare at for a while:
http://www.planetairsoft.net/
And Ranswer, yes they look sweet but look at the price tags compared to the airsofts of the same look. |

Heh and here we see a Crac Airsoft team in the midst of action taunting there opponents...
Garner your team Vs Mine.
Do the airsoft weapons have the same problems as Paintballs?
Masks steam up?
Pellets get affected by the wind badly?
Range is crappy? |
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

Masks do not steam up. No paint so masks are wire mesh not solid.
+1 airsoft
Badly? Not really... the lightweight pellets 0.12g, 0.2g are affected... but in windy weather you just up the weight. 0.25g or if you're a snip you could go all the way up to 0.4g.
No idea what the range on a paintball gun is... airsoft stock out of the box can manage 60m easily. Upgraded guns have been known to reach 80-90m.
Airsoft guns are infinitely better than Paintball guns because you dont have the reseviour in the way.

Nope.. it was an example of the fact that Airsoft weaponary is 100% like the real life equivalent of the gun its modeled on... on the outside anyway.
Internally they're obviously completely different.

So would it be worth it to spend $30 on this Airsoft P90?:

The WELL/CYMA guns are... well pathetic. Forgetting the fact that reliablity is fairly low, the magazine has a funny bit on it for some reason and its power is rather pathetic... its not too bad I suppose
The guy that built his own sentry gun used a WELL P90.
Power wise...
That does 200 feet/sec w/ 0.12 g BB, costs $30. Classified as an 'entry level' gun. Perfect for mucking around with but not for a skirmish.
Mine (Tokyo Marui) does 275 feet/sec w/ 0.20 g BB, is $211 (from http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/ at least). Not for indoor use unless you like to break stuff/other people. |

They fire solid plastic 6mm plastic balls at 275 feet per second.
Can be upgraded to around the 400+ fps mark.
11-13 rounds per second. Again... upgradable.
Most sites here in the UK don't allow such fps speed though. 328 is the limit at most.
So yeah... they can break things! |
