You might want to keep practacing there goobster before putting anything in a game, but if they're your first attempts at modelling then good work. We do 3dsmax at my school and people cant even rotate things without asking for help.

lmao

edit.
sorry,
good work there goober!
Now you should chamfer some of those edges, or bevel some faces.
I think you've extruded the meshes from splines, right?

well when i was in high school there were 3ds max lessions as well, cant say the classmates i had then were as bad as that. there were alot of talented people in my class. lol

however the pc's we used were using 3ds max 4 (when there was 6). and the pc's are the kind you would want to jam in your shed and forget about it, or tie it on the back of the car and drag it down the street, most of all the keyboards and mice were VERY dirty, *plugh* i always wore gloves in that class...

Also, the teacher was pretty abusive, although me and my mates had fun talkin trash (and throwing it) at him. that was really the only class i had fun in. In the end i 'borrowed' one of the 3ds 6 manuals when they finally upgraded at the end of my last year there... so i decided to take a little "going away present."

anaways, goober although you got the concepts right on how to use a concept art, you need to learn how to use extrude, bevel, and most importantly CUT.

cut is the single most important tool you will ever use in any 3d package. without it you wont be able to do much. Go to www.3dbuzz.com they have a TON of video tutorials on how to use 3ds max FOR FREE. although i only watched a few im pretty confident they explain it well. you need to register as a user to get access to the files, if you ask me its damn well worth it. If you watch the videos you will be able to model using effective techniques they use throughout the video in days than months figuring it out on your own.

Some personal tips, always model in editable poly, as that mode offers alot of useful tools you can use to re create deleted faces. using cut (normal mode) is the best solution for cutting up faces and dividing them. fast slice (or whatever its called) is the best way to add a quick slice disregarding snapping and vert locations.

So why you've been using editable meshes all time
..not sure tough, I think the weird3 source was also done like that.

It'd be a very bad idea to model stuff with editable mesh.

Also you dont have to convert the editable polys to editable mesh before you can use RFbone.
RFbone does this itself.

I don't know about you guys but I usually model using the largest image I can find as a background, the image doubles as a quick texture too - when it's applied it requires no unwraping.

Only when the model it totally finished do I then edit the background image so it can be properly UVWmapped.

As for schooling, I'm totally self taught, never had any classes though I have of course followed alot of tutorials for max. Started off using Stratavision ( if anyone remembers that great program ).
For first models they are very promising goober

As for modelling using editable mesh, I use it for extrusions etc. and editing meshes
What do you model with RedFrog?

Not bad... my first model was about that quality, look where I am now

Anyway, try not to use extruded splines for large shapes. I like to make boxes/cylinders with a few segments and convert it to Editable Mesh and move the vertices around. (I know this is a no-no but it's easy :S)

What do you model with RedFrog?

Editable Poly.
As D2k said, it offers more features, more and better tools.

The guys on 3dbuzz always used it for modelling, I love these tutorials Before doing things in 3dsmax you should watch the vtms, otherwise you'll learn it the wrong way.
