I have been of my box for a month now and found that my 6600GT is not the problem coz it works fine in my friends box. I put his card (which is also a 6600GT) in my box it was not as bad but still crashed in the same way. While playin in RF2 all the walls where disapearing, and when i put my card back the same thing hapened which never ever hapened with my card.So i pulled all my ram out and put his in as well as his card and still was stuffing up. im thinking its my mobo coz when i bourght it its sound card completely stuffed(faulty onboard stuff= faulty M/B ).
im chucking out my cpu too coz it once over heated and shutdown with in 4 seconds of turn on 3 times in a row,CPU temp reached something like 160oC. well i wont be back till i get a cpu all ready got mobo(Abit AV8 3rd eye) cpu going to be Athlon 64 3000 socket 939. yay heaps better then athlon XP 2800. well guys see u in a while. |

as far as heat..well I do as my "smart" freinds do..I took the side panel off..and set a 6" fan next to it..if I game hard for few hours with out fan on it will crash..so $10.00 at wally world is well worth it |
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell

Have you ever been thinking of driver issues?
Have you tested your whole hardware on your friends mainboard to prove the mainboard failure of your computer?
You only get these problems in 3d applications or everywhere? On the desktop or Bios for example.
Have you tweaked the FSB or AGP Voltage?
Did you set the Bios settings back to default?
If you can answer all these questions with yes....and no, don't care bout it, go and buy the new stuff, you need it, I wont stop ya! lol

I got my abit AV8 mobo and athlon64 3000 (socket 939 )
Not a problem any more it works fine. And with this new cpu UT2004 can push out a max of 620 FPS insted of 350 with athlon XP 2800, so much faster I dont need any faster then this coz i only got a 6600GT which does not bottle neck with this cpu. I found that nothing was dead on the board but the socket was a bit doggy and i pulled out the cpu out and put it back and now that works again, but it was too late i had already got a new board. Im happy now thanks guys. PS im going to be such a noob at RF i have not played for 5 weeks coz of this |

no i thing it a bit of a crapy socket on the old board, 1 of the pin proberblly was not contacting good. i fixed it by pulling the cpu out and puting it back in. but like i said i already got a new board and was get the new cpu at the time so it does not matter about that board and cpu any more.
Hello again. I just formated last night, the compy was fine but i could not get the network going. All the devices in device manager had #2 next to them ie. IBM netjet 10/100 network adaptor #2, PCI modem #2 ect.
I guess windows dont like just having a mother board changed. after the format all the devices went back to normal but the network was still not going so i checked his devices and his network card was gone lol. so then i wiglled and push it in more and all is good now. his compys cards all ways gets bad contacts evey so often (last week it was the video card) |
