Hiya folks! yes it's me, the elusive lone wolf, thought I'd drop in and say hi before I head of to Cultana Training Area for the South Australian Brigade, Australian Army Cadets Annual Field Exercise.
I've looking forward to this for ages, I'm on Tier 2 (of 3 Tier's  ) I haven't been to Cultana yet, but apparently there's lots of snakes and spiders up that way.
Last year I was on Tier 1 and it was at the Murray Bridge Urban Training Area (I dunno what's so Urban about it, it's mostly bushland and a few roads).
But any who this year we get to all sorts of cool stuff, we're going to the range to fire the F-88t Austeyr, we get to go on some awesomely long navexes (Navigation Exercises), go for a ride in the zodiacs (basically boats ), do waterman-ship training and all sorts 
And chances are I'll be a Section Commander, or Platoon 2nd in command, which means I'll have anywhere from 10-30 men under my command *thinks evil thoughts*
I also have a little plan, if I get bitten by a snake and have to go home, I'm singing 'So long, and thanks for all the fish' to the Medic's
Anyway, I gotta get ready to roll, so I'll tell you how it goes when I get back  might even have some cool piccy's |

Hey folks, 'tis me again!
AFX finished aaaaaages ago but I've been rather busy with school, friends and my girl
It wasn't so great, we were supposed to spend 3 hours on the range doing weapons famil.... they canceled that, all they did was show us how to fire the rifle, got us on our gut, told us where to fire and gave it to us... pre-loaded and readied.
And we were supposed to do a 2-day watermanship course, but that got cancelled because they couldn't get the engineers up.
Although on the second day we got famil rides in the M113 APC's from 3rd/9th Light Horse (South Australian Mounted Rifles), which was AWESOME fun, bit like being put in a steel box and shook about but I kept hitting my head on the top, hehe, lucky we got helmets.
I was originally put in 1 Platoon, Alpha Company. But at my request I was transfered to 5 Platoon, Bravo Company.
On the 3rd day we did a Navigation Excercise and I got appointed as signaller (my speciality ) but CAPT Langtry (our Directing Supervisor / Platoon Commander) made me use the big antenna cos we couldn't get comm's, so I was walking through the bush and kept falling over backwards cos the antenna got caught in the tree's.
On the 4th day we were doing an obstacle course and I got a piggy-back from my Platoon Sergeant...
And on the second-last day, we were being driven to the sentry post by unimog and I was sitting right at the back with my legs up on a box and almost fell out. 
And all through out the excercise I was doing silly little things with a young female Cadet who'd injured her knee, such as tapping peoples webbing for no reason seeing who could tap someone's webbing the most without being noticed, hehe.
Anyways, that was this years AFX I gotta go re-pack cos I'm goin to NSW for 2 weeks in about 2 1/2 hours.
