Hi Guys I was wondering if any one here knows how to disable the pistol.
Basicly you start out with the pistol in hand. Once you unlock the clip it no longer reloads also if you select another weapon such as the baton you can no longer go back and select the pistol.
Currently what ive done.
No Pickup Flag (so you can get ammo from a loose gun)
No Damage from the pistol.( so if you shoot some one it wont hurt)
Edited the items and weapons table setting the gun ammo to 1 1. |

i assume your looking for this for a rail server? it would also be usefull for run servers. |

Try changing the starting weapon or available weapons in entity.tbl |

ok darkness it is easy to apply this modification
first you have to dl the bye bye noob available on l4y dl section
you need the vpp builder 32 to extract the weapons.tbl folder to your desk then open your weapons.tbl with wordpad or with vpp viewer
then find the "12mm handgun" section
then find this line of code
$Damage Multi: 25
then replace the 25 by 0
then save and it's done |

I have that part changed, there is however a way that once another weapon has been selected the pistol is no longer re-selectable. |

i know u can make the hand gun unselectable through the bye bye noobs methid as well, with the excetion of u will still start out with the hand gun. but setting it to 0 dmg will make ppl switch their guns rather quikly.
but i dont think every one will be able to play the map with u making the map with a different ui its like ur running a new mod |

the humble modded server is a funny subject 2 me cos if i need anything done a friend does it 4 me cos i dunno what 2 do
u know who u are and thanks man
but if u set the thing of the pistol to 0 then find out what they do in the weired servers 2 start with the assault rifle then i think u would nail it |

Hya Dark. We chatted about this on msn before. I changed several
settings in the server site ui to. But still ( even on ur rail server ) a
player can pop up and use the handgun still. I seen
u made it as far i made it to. Pop up 16 shots availeble, than the
reload stops. But after u die , i can shoot again 16 shot. Think we
look for the same thing. We need a server side patch to make sure
NO player can pop up whith handgun, or shoot not 1 single shot whith it.
Like how we disable HMG , FUSION , and so on at our regular servers
it seems the handgun dun like to be disabled hi hi.
( btw i run the both BS , vote and Rail servers )
Anyone any idea ? |

for one thing, why do you disable HMG, fusion and amp on servers?!?!?!
and the reason the pistol cant be disabled like that is, you dont pick up the pistol, you spawn with it, you can disable the pistol pickup, but i dont think you can disable the 16 shots u spawn with... unless you can set it so you spawn with a baton |

This ? pops up alot and the only reason i can give is because it gives a great advantage to the player with these weapons/amps. The fusion i dont mind as you only get 1 ammo and it has a longer respawn time. The damage amp i dont mind to much either as you can still kill the amper. The invul i really really hate as it gives an advantage of unmatchable proportions. The HMG without being modded is just to powerful and has way to many bullets ... at one of the lans i go to i created a server where the HMG did same damage but it only had 35 bullets, it was definatly acceptable like this as the power and the reload time just cancelled each other out so it just became another weapon with no great advantage over all others.
and james the weird server has the player spawn with a AR ... if you check you still spawn with the pistol. |

You can just swap the pistol properties with that from another weapon... thus it looks and acts like you spawn with, say, an AR, when infact RF thinks it is a pistol, which it is, but its using the AR mesh and all the AR effects. |

Yeah we will. I’m working on a set of several server mods. All of which will include a base server mod, I call it a Rail Hit Glitch fix.
Basically it adds a second projectile to the rail driver, with 0 spread. Often times when you rail some one the damage doesn’t go through 2 stages. There is 1 stage when a rail hits that you drop down to 13-6 health and then a second stage where you drop to 0.
I’m probobly just going to release ui.vpps for server admins who are semi or to new to install server mods. I’ve found that even experienced server admins modified ui's don’t work at times.
The downloads will be around 6 MB per server mod and there will be:
Server mod Set1: (All Purpose)
Duel Rail projectile
Server mod Set2: (Semi-all Purpose)
Duel Rail projectile
No Amps
Server mod Set3: (Open Reg Server)
Duel Rail projectile
No HMG
No Fusion
No Amps
Server mod Set4: (Open Reg Server)
Duel Rail projectile
No HMG
No Fusion
No Amps
No Supers
Server mod Set5: (Open/Private Rail Server)
Duel Rail projectile
No C4 Damage
No Grenade Damage
No Pistol

omg the powerups were ment to give the player a short advantage, not for people to get all scared of. you too are this powerfull if you get them.. your all just as capable of getting the invs, in my opinion, pewople that say HMG is noobs are being noob because they are too lazy and/or not good enough to get them. |
