[Forum Rules]   Back to Forum Thread List DVL_IAC   Posted 16th Sep 2005 3:23am L4Y Member Post 515 / 1417 I just bought a new seagate 250GB HDD and put it in my comp and plugged in the power and SATA Cable but for some reason the new hard drives not showing up in "My Computer" yet is shows up in programs like "Everest" and in the the "Hardware device manager" in windows... anyone have any idea why it doesn't show up in "My Computer"? Its not formatted yet. Start ->Control Panel ->Administrative Tools ->Computer Management Choose the 'Storage' entry followed by 'Disk Management' It will be listed here. You'll have to format it after which you can use it. Note that you cant change all drives... I dont think you can reassign the one Windows is installed on for a start for obvious reasons.
