is it possible to have a song play when the game has ended in multi? I want to have a cutscene at a certian place in the map and have a sound or song play when the cutscene is seen by ppl. Is it possible?

maby have a trigger linked to a keyframe that plays the sound on a no player colide invisable brush is in the same place as the cutscrene?

maybe but if normal music stops when the game ends then wouldn't the keyfram sound not work...although....i think i may have played a map that i hear d a door ope sound when the game had finished. I guess i'd have to try

Link the music event directly from the cutscene event. Blaze, you too have figured out how to trigger cutscenes on call in MP?
If I ever get to where I am going, will I know when I am there?

I don't think he means cutscene events, just a cutscene camera put somewhere in the level so when the game is over the view the people see is from the camera...

Oh ... Now that I think about it, it would be hard to achieve with any method because servers are running different time frames on maps, so you would never know when the end of the level is about to happen. I haven't tried running events off a camera, maybe you can.

You may be able to 'mod' the end game sounds [add the soundtrack to the end of the womans voice countdown], but then that would effect every map, not just yours.

the closest possible thing would be, imo, to start the music 30 min after the game started since default games last for 30 minutes.


I know it's far from flawless.

i figured that it would play a movie of how to do the obsticle right before u do it.

using the when dead event to create the cutscene to play in MP is not perfect, because if you set the delay to 5 seconds, (so it takes 5 seconds before the cutscene starts) if somebody has not spawned in the map before the 5 second time limit they wont see the cutscene.. and sometimes players with a laggy 500 ping take 10 seconds to spawn in the game.

using triggers does play the cutscene for everybody in the server instead of just 1 person like when using the when dead event.

you could make use of cutscenes for alot of things in the "Deathrun" maps Such as giving a nice view of the map, movers and entities, playing sounds.. umm, you could do alot with cutscenes..

Anybody that remembers Deathrun2 and 3 will know that the checkpoints dont work properly in MP after somebody joins after they have been opened.. well i also figured out how to fix this bug which is absolutely unbeleivable

and no goober i am not talking about the triggered geo-mod explosions.. i mean just normal movers set to 1 way.

so if somebody is playing alone, and opens a switch and it makes the map do something and it goes 1 way.. now 5 minutes later somebody joins the map and its already open if you understand.

DVL_Blaze i think goobers first post idea would work for what your trying to do.. but you might need to make an exact replica of the room you want the cutscene camera in because if you could not go into the room you would not hear the sound until you are viewing the cutscene.
