Usually when i play RO and an explosion happens close to me The whole of the game except the gun and hud changes to crazy colours, and with shadows it has a strange multi coloured square around actors in UT and other mods. Before anybody asks, i can't remember the name of my graphics card but it comes with the Portege A100 Toshiba Laptop, it is 1.4Ghz and 256mb RAM.

I think I found the Video Card.

-Graphics adaptor: IntelĀ® 855GM (4x AGP)
as by this site here

I'm not really sure what would cause your problem though. Anyone else have an idea? My best guess is a low ammount of system memory.

The funky colors are probably coming from an overheated graphics card. ALso, thats an integrated card, which means its just chips on the motherboard. It wasn't designed to run high level games.

They make units that slide under laptops that have fans to cool the underside. That may make a difference.

Try updating the drivers. Its an Intel card, and Intel releases new drivers all the time.

The main thing though is that it really wasn't designed to run that sort of game. Most laptops aren't. Your lucky it runs now. You won't be able to upgrade it, because its integrated.

*sigh* yeah, might aswell wait for games to come out on the mac and wait for the PS3
it took morrowind about 15seconds before it bloody crashed. I hate my computer, and my dad wont let me get a better one.

Just downloaded driver version 14.15, hopefully that'll make a difference though i doubt it

I'm running a GeForce FX5700 with the 61.77 drivers and I still have the problem... I think its more to do with internal problems that the UT2004 engine has rendering the smoke and shell shock effects that have recently been added to the mod. Although it happens a lot less in RO v3.3 I expect it will be made better in future patches and/or the retail version.
