If you haven't heard, Hurricane Katrina-- probably the worst natural disasters to ever hit the United States -- smashed into the southern gulf coast of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama as nearly a category 5 storm. New Orleans is almost totally under many feet of water as I write this and many cities along the coast and inland have completely flattened.
There is immense, widespread, total devastation that will take YEARS to recover from. And it is feared that the situation is about to explode in chaos an anarchy as tons of looters and desperate individuals armed with weapons have begun taking advantage of a horrible situation.
Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated by any number of charities. I've included two links below for your convienence.
Im not being nasty. Please anyone that wants to flame me do so in a PM or whatever.
These are my thoughts and not the thoughts of l4y in general. (incase any smart arse thinks it is)
I never ever give to these kind of things. If my town was all messed up (it is but not as bad) then i wouldnt expect the americans to start sending cash over to us.
America is rich enough, let them deal with it.
Trying not to offend here... would of gone into more detail. but i know what you people are like
Meh...

Yeah, I'm not too fussed, America has more than enough funds to support themselves, Red Cross can go in and help all they like, but they don't need people to fund them when they have the federal government with all their money and resources to support them.
I have aunts and uncles who live in New Orleans, I don't know if they are dead or alive. I was supposed to be going out there in February for a wedding... who knows now.
