First...
to: Anthony L P
can i have permission to edit your new DM map "DM - Star Wars Final Battle" to go with my star wars TC?
Second...
if any one is planing to make or release any Star Wars theamed maps in the future Pleas contact me first, so i can give you a (very small) list of how i would like weapons placed (did not mean that to sound like it does). this would save me the time of having to ask permision to use so & so's map for editing. so pleas contact me by way of e-mail ( bachandpaul@hotmail.com ) or send me an IMS. |

well what if the ppl don't wanna contact u first or put the weapons where they at?and what if they don't wanna give u permission?your making yurself sound like if anyone makes a mpa that is based on star wars they HAVE to give them permission to put in yur mod. a lot of times when maps by other ppl are in mods the players only see that the mod creator made the maps even though tell them that u didn't make them. not to sound rude but, u sound rude
u didn't even ask if ppl could senf u emails. ur telling them that u have to be contacted in case of their map ideas. no where in the final paragraph is there a question mark, a "can..." or anything of that nature |

What's the deal with asking? As far as we are concerned, all the maps we build are open source. It's not like we are getting payed to build them. |
If I ever get to where I am going, will I know when I am there? |

I wouldn't go as far as to say open source... I know there's no real way to protect maps, but I still appretiate it wen people ask permission for use. Afterall, RF maps still follow copyright laws. |

Goober is right. The legal copyright of your maps belong toVolition/THQ.

Whether the copyright belongs to us or not isn't the point. The copyright laws still apply, whether or not their to our advantage or not. And thanks for the welcome. |

for some reasion i new that now matter how i tried to word what i said it was going to sound demanding. and for the life of me i could not think of any other way to say it. so to answer every ones questions...
First. I CAN"T MAP!!! i 'v tried, but maping is not my for-tay.
Second. no i am not saying that people can't make there own mape's. what i was trying to say is (hope this sound better than last time) before so ans so decided's to release a star wars theamed mape i would like them to contact me about maby redoing it to fit my star wars TC. this way there can be two version of there map. one rof normale RF and one thats riged (diffrent kind of multi weapon system) to fit the star wars TC. (if this sound demanding in anyway then just reword it in you head so it sounds like a question )
Third. according to THQ / Volition legal copyright laws all maps and mods mad for RF are open source. i just ask because it's the more polite thing to do.
below is a more indept veryant on copyright laws
(this little bit of info is for those who don't know but need to know... Weird Al does exactly the same thing when makin a pairady of so and so's song because as far as the law is concerned he can take any song he feals like and change it to the funniest thing you ever heard and so and so can't say or do a single thing about it. point is, according to the law only the lyrics in music are copyrighted. the same thing is true for game that can be moddified as whell only the game is copyrighted) i sure hope i worded that corectly |

Is there any particular scene that you'd like from Star Wars?
My last Star Wars map only took a couple of days from start to finish so I could easily rip out another one... Just gimme some ideas |

It's a pretty basic map, the thing that took the time was getting the Tie Fighter to move like it does... I challenge any mapper on the planet (except Killafreak ) to be able to make an object move in the same fashion!!! Without disecting my map in RED first of course |

i think i know how u did it
put the ship on keyframe, have a pause time on the end, have a rotate keyframe on the ship, trigger door->moving keyframe
trigger door->delay of id say 10 seconds->rotate keyframe->delay for about 5 seconds->stop.
i think thats it |

I'll see if I can do it in minute, just after I've carefully watched how it moves |

Try it... I couldn't get it to work with delays...
Basically you want a brush to move from a standing point A in a straight line to point B, at which point it will rotate 180 degrees before it rebounds back towards point A where it will rotate back so that it sits back in it's original position ready for another go.
All the best! |
